<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

The invention relates to an electronic circuit arrangement for the simultaneous determination and treatment of acupuncture points on the skin with the aid of voltage pulses applied by means of electrodes, which are supplied by an oscillator, which essentially consists of one with one
Resistance feedback, inverting Schmit trigger, whose input is via a
The capacitor is connected to ground, with one electrode connected to ground and the other electrode connected to the output of the oscillator and the variable skin resistance acting as a frequency-determining circuit part.
Acupuncture points are essentially more electrically conductive skin points. They serve as sensors for air electricity, since every lower-resistance point (acupuncture point) on a high-resistance surface (skin) in a high-resistance circuit (air-electric field) conducts voltage to earth (zero potential,
Mass) acts. These points are searched for by direct or alternating current measurement. The medical
Therapy is essentially any stimulation of the points. It takes place through punctures, electricity, laser or mechanical influences. The irritation causes an increase in the conductivity of the acupuncture points and thus an increase in the current flow through the body via the acupuncture points.
When treating with electric current, alternating and direct currents are used. Of the
Treatment current is also the measuring current.
According to medical requirements, the measuring current itself should not change in the
Cause the object to be measured, but on the other hand its voltage is significantly higher than the potentials of the
Cells in the current path in order not to get countercurrents or the body's own currents into the current measurement.
The treatment current should be as high as possible in order to cause a local electrical change in the current path.
These contradicting demands on an acupuncture device are partially taken into account by switching between therapy and search. With the usual direct or alternating current measurement, however, the problems with searching are not solved, since higher measuring voltages
Causes current paths, but measures incorrect currents at low measuring voltages.
The object of the invention was therefore to enable simultaneous searching and treatment without switching over, to load skin points that are not acupuncture points with low measurement currents, but to apply large amounts of charge when locating acupuncture points.
The invention therefore consists in an electronic circuit arrangement of the type mentioned in that a diode is connected in the forward direction between the feedback resistor and the output of the Schmit trigger and a second diode polarized in the forward direction is connected between the connection point of the first diode with the feedback resistor and the electrode, which is not connected to ground, that via a third diode in the forward direction in a DC converter, output pulses of the oscillator with increased voltage level are fed to the connection point of the second diode with the electrode that is not connected to ground, and that the output of the oscillator connected to a speaker.
In the circuit according to the invention, short voltage pulses are used for measurement. These impulses overcome the potential of the cells, but have a small amount of charge over time, which is not suitable for artificially creating current paths.
A significantly higher therapy voltage is switched on to these measuring pulses, so that the search process and the therapy process are possible without switching.
Since the frequency of the impulses is proportional to the conductivity of the contacted skin points, the impulse frequency increases when acupuncture points are found, whereby the acupuncture point can be registered. The skin resistance is also lower at acupuncture points, whereby the current itself increases proportionally to the conductivity and thus the total amount of current applied increases over time, indirectly square to the skin resistance.
The invention will now be explained with reference to the drawings; FIG. 1 shows a circuit diagram and FIG. 2 shows diagrams of voltage curves for individual points in the circuit.
The inverting Schmittrigger-ST-- is connected as an oscillator and controls the DC-converter --DC-- and the loudspeaker-LS- with a square pulse B. The supply voltage in this example is 9V. This voltage is high-tensioned in the DC converter - DC impulses. As long as --R2- is not connected, a square pulse B via the resistor -Rl-
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
Charged capacitor C1 - not discharged via the reverse-biased diodes --D1, D2, D3.
Therefore point A is always positive and there is no oscillation of the inverting Schmit trigger (to). Output B is connected to ground and the loudspeaker LS and the DC converter --DC-- are not activated. If the resistor --R2--, which can be the skin resistor or some other discharging switching element, is connected, the capacitor-Cl- is discharged via -Rl, D2, R2-- until the lower switching point of the inverting Schmittriggers-ST- is reached . As a result, output B goes towards + 9V until the capacitor via-Dl, Rl-again the upper one
Switching point reached and output B switches to ground. The duration of the positive pulse B is given by Rl x Cl = t2.
The duration of the = OV state (discharge) is defined by (Rl + R2) x Cl = t1. Therefore, the pulse frequency of the oscillator changes in inverse proportion to the value of the resistor-R2-. The positive impulse at output B controls the DC converter --DC-- and the loudspeaker. The positive high-voltage pulse arrives at point C or -R2- via diode --D3--.
The diode-zis switched in reverse direction for this pulse. Since the high voltage pulse occurs simultaneously with the charge pulse B, u. between the beginning of the charging time t2 of the capacitor-Cl-, the charging time of the capacitor - C1 - is not affected. The discharge of the capacitor-Cl- (during ti) is not influenced by the high-voltage pulse because it does not coincide with the high-voltage pulse (t2).
The oscillator frequency is made audible through the loudspeaker.
In the diagram of FIG. 2, the pulse shapes and the timing are given. t2 is the charging time, ti is the discharging time of the capacitor-Cl-. A, B, C and D are the waveforms at the same points in the circuit of FIG.
