Description

   <Desc/Clms Page number 1>

   The invention relates to a device for aerating liquids, in particular wastewater, with a porous body which is bordered at least over part of its height by a ring, preferably made of plastic, connected to an air supply part, between the porous body and at least one Air supply opening a cavity is arranged.

   In a known device of this type, the porous body consists of sintered plastic powder and therefore represents a rigid plate. The ring enclosing the porous body serves for sealing at the edge of the body. However, porous rigid bodies have the disadvantage in the aeration of wastewater that over time their pores become blocked by the impurities and microorganisms contained in the wastewater and, if this can be done at all, cleaning is necessary. In addition, rigid bodies are relatively difficult to machine.

   To remedy the first-mentioned disadvantage, it has already been proposed to produce the porous body from elastic foam plastic, which contains the cavity for the air supply in its interior. The result is that the pores of the body expand when the cavity is pressurized and contract when the pressure is turned off. This results in a certain self-cleaning of the porous body. However, such devices have the disadvantage that cavities have to be worked into the elastic foam plastic, and the attachment to the air supply line is also not very easy to accomplish.

   The invention has set itself the goal of providing a device for aeration, in particular of wastewater, in which all the disadvantages outlined above are avoided. This is achieved in that, in a device of the type mentioned at the outset, the porous body consists of soft elastic foam. This measure according to the invention achieves simple and secure fastening on the one hand, but also self-cleaning on the other hand. It has been shown that in order to achieve a self-cleaning effect, it is in no way necessary to incorporate a cavity in the elastic foam. Rather, it is sufficient if, as in the device according to the invention, the cavity is provided between the flexible foam and the air supply opening.

   It was also by no means obvious to use the outer ring known for rigid ventilation bodies, which is used for sealing, in the case of soft-elastic foam bodies, where, surprisingly, it enables the soft-elastic foam body to be fastened properly and securely.

   It has proven particularly expedient if the ring has an L-shaped or T-shaped cross section. The approximately horizontal web of the L or T in this type of operation also holds the foam body in place.

   The ring can be connected to the air supply part in various ways. So it is possible to glue or screw the ring to the air supply part. Furthermore, the ring can be held by a screw which is screwed transversely into the air supply part. But it is also z. B. possible that the air supply part in the region of its upper end has a circumferential groove into which a resilient ring is inserted which holds the ring of the foam body.

   The invention is explained in more detail below on the basis of exemplary embodiments which are illustrated in the drawings. 1 shows half in section half in view an air supply part with an inserted foam body. 2 to 4 represent various attachment options for the foam body in the air supply part.

   1 has in the example cup-shaped air supply part --1-- a sleeve --2-- for connection to an air supply line, not shown. A foam body --3-- is inserted in the air supply part-i-, whereby between this foam body --3-- and one in the sleeve --2--
 EMI1.1

   The horizontal web of the ring --6-- additionally supports the foam body --3--.

   If the foam body-3-z. B. replaced due to heavy contamination or damage, the ring --6-- can be turned off and a new foam body including the ring can be used.

 <Desc / Clms Page number 2>

   In the example according to FIG. 2, the ring --7-- enclosing the foam body --3-- is T-shaped and is -8- stripped with the air supply part by means of a thread. The outer web of the T serves as a stop on the air supply part - l-when screwing in the ring --7--.

   3 is the ring enclosing the foam body --3--
 EMI2.1

4, a resilient ring --11 - is inserted into a groove --10-- provided in the air supply part --1--, against which the surrounding ring --6-- of the foam body --3-- is supported.

   Numerous modifications are still possible within the scope of the invention. In particular, the invention can also, for. B. applied to elongated foam body or air supply parts. Also, the horizontal flange of the ring --7-- in Figs. 2 and 3 by the above in the feed part - 1-- screws or the like. being held.
