and 2 are passed through and for this purpose, at least in the flat strips 1 somewhat oblong slots 7 (FIG. 3), so that the connecting strips 6 can move upwards and downwards in these slots as a result of the deflection occurring during expansion. In the case of the corrugated lead strips 2, on the other hand, the holes 3 for receiving the connecting strips 6 are expediently dimensioned so that the corresponding lead strips sit firmly on the strips 6.
If expansion occurs in this design of the large surface plate, the springs 5 pressing on the side edges against the lead strips 1 and 2 are pressed more or less outwards and at the same time an extension of the same occurs, which means that the connecting strips 6 are complete , or at least moved more or less downwards at the ends or are bent, so that the end effect of this expansion is a corresponding lengthening of the plate, i.e. a greater height of the same.

their length can play freely flat strips that cannot be changed, so deformation of the strips themselves, in particular pressing them against each other and thus reducing the space between them, cannot occur.
The corrugated strips, which, as mentioned, sit firmly on the connecting rods, on the other hand, when these connecting rods are moved more or less downwards as a result of the lengthening of the plate, can correspondingly expand more or less without the wave shape itself being lost, so that as As a result of these movements, the distance between the flat and corrugated strips is somewhat smaller after the extension has taken place, but the respective enclosed space must remain the same under all circumstances.
The drawback, which is otherwise noted with such large surface plates, that as a result of the stretching, the effective surface is reduced by compressing the lead strips and, as a result, the loading capacity, is avoided here. Rather, an independent adaptation of the plate to the expansion caused by the formation occurs, insofar as an extension of the plate is also brought about in accordance with this expansion. On the other hand, by the same means, the shrinkage of the due to discharge
