Die saure Lösung extrahiert man mehrfach mit Diäthyläther und schüttelt die vereinigten organischen Phasen anschliessend mit etwas kalt-gesättigter Kochsalzlösung aus. Nach dem Trocknen der Ätherlösung mit MgSO dampft man zur Trockne ein. Die Di-n-propylmalonsäure wird dabei in einer Ausbeute von 71, 8 g (97, 1% d. Th.) kristallin erhalten.
PATENTANSPRUÜCHE :
1. Verfahren zur Herstellung von Di-n-propylmalonsäure, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass man Di-n-propylmalonsäurediäthylester ohne Verwendung eines organischen Lösungsmittels durch Erhitzen mit bis zu 20% Überschuss an wässerigem Alkali in Anwesenheit eines Phasentransfer-Katalysators verseift.

1. A process for the preparation of di-n-propylmalonic acid, characterized in that di-n-propylmalonic acid diethyl ester is saponified without using an organic solvent by heating with up to 20% excess of aqueous alkali in the presence of a phase transfer catalyst.
