Description

   <Desc/Clms Page number 1>

The invention relates to a block made of concrete for a climbing wall.

Artificial walls and walkable or scalable podiums are known from stage technology. Furthermore, hanging and climbing devices are used in gymnasiums. However, these known devices are not particularly suitable for practicing climbing holds and movements, as are necessary in alpine high-performance climbing.

The desire for an artificial climbing wall has among mountaineers, especially under
Extreme mountaineers are becoming increasingly important. For various reasons. On the one hand, such a climbing wall, which can also be set up in a closed room, can be practiced independently of the weather, or certain climbing situations can be simulated.

Furthermore, such a climbing wall is very suitable for demonstrating different ones
Handles, kicks and climbing movements, whereby the students can be in close proximity to the demonstrator.

Another group of interested parties for such a climbing wall can be seen in those mountaineers who live in non-Alpine landscapes, i.e. H. the most general in the
Live on the flat and can only practice their sport for a relatively short period of time, mostly during the holiday season.

For such mountaineers, an artificial climbing wall offers the opportunity not only to train and practice grips and climbing movements, but also to generally train the strength of fingers, hands and toes, and this in relation to mountaineering in situations that are as realistic as possible.

The object of the invention is to provide a module for erecting a climbing wall, which is characterized by a particularly economical design.

This is achieved according to the invention in that the building block designed as a hollow building block has four concrete walls and two open sides, and that at least one of the concrete walls has a recess and / or a projection which form a hold for a hand or foot of a climber.

It is advantageously provided that the recess is a groove. This can be used to practice finger cracks, for example.

Building blocks according to the invention can be strung together in the construction of the climbing wall in such a way that a continuous groove is formed which extends over several building blocks.

This groove can extend both horizontally and vertically.

Depending on the width and depth of the groove, the widths advantageously being chosen so that either the fingers are just about to be inserted into the groove or that the groove can hold an entire hand, the so-called finger crack or hand tear can be practiced on the climbing wall . It can advantageously be provided that the module is provided with a recess on each full side and that the recesses are different; the groove can taper both outwards and inwards. Depending on how the building blocks are put together, different types of climbing landscapes are preserved.

Another exemplary embodiment provides that the recess is a depression with straight side walls which are closed on all sides.

Such a depression, especially if it is square, can serve as a grip hole on the one hand, and as a step on the other.

The depression is advantageously designed such that it occupies approximately a quarter of the side wall of the hollow block, with an edge, of course, remaining.

Another embodiment of the invention provides that the recess is in the form of a trough. The channel is advantageously carried out continuously, i. H. the two faces are open. Such a gutter, the width and shape of which is preferably chosen so that a human body can nestle into it, corresponds to a shallow gutter, as is often found on climbing walls.

A particularly versatile hollow block is obtained in that it is provided with a recess on each full side and that the recesses are different from one another.
