Device for self-regulation of direct current machines.
According to the invention, self-regulation of direct current machines in the sense of maintaining the same or limited voltage is effected by providing the direct current machine with auxiliary brushes located approximately in the neutral zone of the armature voltage, by means of which an electromotive force is delimited which counteracts the excitation voltage of the machine so that with decreasing number of revolutions of the machine the excitation field is strengthened and with increasing number of revolutions weakened. The regulating (auxiliary) electromotive force is then in series with the field winding and the voltage source emitting the actual excitation voltage.
The latter can expediently be the accumulator battery connected in parallel to the terminal voltage of the machine and completely or partially identical to the voltage source connected to the auxiliary brushes.
With this particularly simple circuit, switching on the auxiliary brushes in the excitation would cause a short-circuit of the collector between a main brush and an auxiliary brush without special series resistors or other protective measures.
It is therefore expedient to use a second collector which is connected in series with the excitation winding and which supplies an electromotive force which is directed in the opposite direction to that of the terminal voltage of the machine.
When the speed decreases, the counter-electromotive force generated by the second (auxiliary) collector decreases and thus the excitation and voltage of the machine increase and vice versa, so that practically constant voltage is achieved even with changing speed.
An exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is shown schematically in the drawing.
On the collector connected to the working winding of the armature, only the working brushes a. The auxiliary brushes b drag on a second collector c, which belongs to a special armature winding, and are connected in series with the shunt winding / in such a way that the voltage of the
Terminal voltage of the machine is opposite.
PATENT CLAIMS:
1. Device for self-regulation of DC machines by means of an auxiliary voltage soft auxiliary brushes lying approximately in the neutral zone of the armature voltage, characterized in that this auxiliary voltage is switched against the excitation voltage of the machine, so that with decreasing speed the excitation field is strengthened and with increasing speed it is weakened .
