  Verfahren zur Versteifung von Schuhwerk. 



   Gegenstand vorliegender Erfindung bildet ein Verfahren zur Versteifung von Schuhwerk. Durch dieses Verfahren werden alle bisherigen Versteifungsmethoden (Überstemm-   leine, Gaze usw. ) weit übertroffen und ist dieses Verfahren sowohl für Leder, wie für   Filz und andere Stoffe   gleich   gut zu verwenden. Das als Versteifungsmittel verwendete Guttapercha versteift alle Materialien gleichmassig, hat aber anderen Versteifungsmitteln gegenüber den Vorzug, dass es nicht hart, glasig oder spröde wird, sondern immer elastisch bleibt und dem versteiften Material einen milden, weichen und doch kräftigen Charakter verleiht. Ein weiterer, ganz besonderer Vorteil liegt darin, dass das Mittel wasserdicht ist und dem Schuhwerk die Form erhalten bleibt, die ihm durch die Leistenform gegeben wird. 



   Das Versteifungsverfahren ist das Folgende :
Schaft und Futter werden mit einer wasserdichten   Guttaperchazwischenlage   versehen. 



  Ist das Schuhwerk fertig, so wird dasselbe mit heissem Eisen gebügelt, wodurch die Zwischenlage flüssig wird und sich mit Schaft und Futter derartig verbindet. dass es den Anschein gewinnt, als ob beides aus einem Stück wäre. In getrocknetem Zustand behält die   Mu. sise   den dem Guttapercha eigenartigen elastischen Charakter, verhindert das Eindringen von Feuchtigkeit und verleiht dem Schuh einen guten Stand.

   The present invention provides a method for stiffening footwear. This process far surpasses all previous stiffening methods (claw leash, gauze, etc.) and this process can be used equally well for leather, felt and other materials. The gutta-percha used as a stiffening agent stiffens all materials equally, but has the advantage over other stiffening agents that it does not become hard, glassy or brittle, but always remains elastic and gives the stiffened material a mild, soft and yet strong character. Another very special advantage is that the agent is waterproof and the footwear retains the shape that is given to it by the shape of the last.



   The stiffening procedure is as follows:
The shaft and lining are provided with a waterproof gutta-percha liner.



  When the footwear is ready, it is ironed with a hot iron, whereby the intermediate layer becomes liquid and so bonds with the shaft and lining. that it appears as if both are from one piece. When dry, the musise retains the elastic character peculiar to gutta-percha, prevents moisture from penetrating and gives the shoe a good footing.
