Method and device for drying in trays.
According to the new method for drying on stacked trays with mechanical loading, the drying of the goods takes place in such a way that one and the same
Desiccant first passes in cocurrent and then in countercurrent to the material to be dried through the material moving over the drying surface, so that the wet material to be dried is first subjected to vigorous pre-drying and then to post-drying. As a result of the initial water content of the goods to be dried, the desiccant is cooled down sufficiently to allow the subsequent advantageous subsequent drying in the countercurrent principle without risk.
According to the present method, all sparks that have been entrained in the still moist good below will go out without causing them, as is the case with pure countercurrent drying
Can ignite a fire while maintaining all the advantages of drying in countercurrent to the drying air, so that in particular losses due to the entrainment of fine parts from the top
Horde and that without the use of expensive and yet always inadequate dust collectors can be avoided because the goods on the topmost rack are still damp and therefore heavy, at least not dusty.
An embodiment of a device for carrying out the new method is shown in the drawing in FIGS. 1, 2 and 3 in longitudinal section, side view and plan. The drying device consists of two departments, of which the lower one works as a pre-dryer, the upper one as a finished dryer, and which are connected by means of a bucket elevator and a flap, respectively. can be connected in series.
The individual compartments can be provided with a number of stacked racks, over which the goods to be dried are moved mechanically, for example by means of transport wings or the like provided in the dryer, and in the example shown this takes place in the order indicated by the Roman rack numbers I to VI is indicated. Is charged z. B. Horde I of the lower department through an introduction device e, as which a return conveyor is selected.
After the material has crossed this rack, it is brought to the upper rack by a lifting device h and now also migrates over this until it reaches the removal device a from the last, completely dried, which is shown here as a screw .
Shortly before this it crosses a locking device (flap k) which can be rotated about axis d with the help of lever 8, in the last shelf (T / If this lock is opened (by raising the flap), the goods fall instead of being removed It goes back to the IZ-rde I and goes through the dryer again. This happens if the drying is found to be insufficient for whatever reason. When changing over, the infeed of fresh wet goods must of course be switched off for the time being.
The dry supply air, heated by the admixture of fire gases, enters the from below
Dryer and comes out of it as moist, cool exhaust air at the top. Accordingly, it first dries the wet material first and then finishes it in countercurrent.
PATENT. EXPECTATIONS :
1. Drying method in drying devices with stacked trays and mechanical loading, characterized in that one and the same desiccant first

dried and then only after-resp. is finished drying.
