The invention relates to a cabinet element with a swing-out dining, reading or storage table, in particular for hospital cabinet walls, which connects to a recess in the cabinet wall for the head of a bed with its longitudinal axis substantially perpendicular to the front of the cabinet wall and to one of the recess facing side has a swivel mechanism for a table top holder, which allows a table top in its use position next to the cabinet element or
to bring over the bed in the recess, and which has a receptacle for the swung-away table top, the swivel mechanism having a two-armed swivel lever which can be swiveled out substantially perpendicular to the front of the cupboard wall on a side wall of the cupboard element designed as a tall cupboard, which runs essentially parallel to the longitudinal axis of the bed is articulated, wherein the swung out front lever arm has a substantially greater length than the rear lever arm which can be swiveled towards the rear of the cabinet element and a support is provided for fixing the swung out state at the end of the rear lever arm, the support being adjustable in height and the table top, which can be accommodated on a holder inside the cabinet element when the swivel arm is swiveled in,
can be attached to the swung out front lever arm by means of brackets provided on one of its sides, according to patent no. 376109.
With this design according to the older proposal, it was possible in particular to ensure that the table does not become significantly more expensive due to the fact that the table can be swiveled out and that the pivoting mechanism for the table is also simplified.
The invention has as its object the adjustability of the support for the end of the rear lever arm of the pivoting lever, which directly determines the height of the table top hung on the front lever arm above the bed, simpler and more user-friendly than the design provided according to the previous proposal with a support acting adjustable screw.
This is achieved according to the invention in that the support for the rear lever arm of the pivoting lever, as is known per se, has a system part fixedly attached to the cabinet element, and in that a step wedge, which can be displaced in the longitudinal direction thereof, is arranged on the rear lever arm, on which at least two are optionally available surfaces serving for support on the system part are provided with different distances from the longitudinal axis of the lever arm.
The step wedge is a very simple and easy to use option from the patient's bed for height adjustment of the table, whereby the number or gradation of the surfaces interacting with the fixed part of the system element engages the surface of such a height adjustment can be fulfilled.
From DE-OS 2926733 it is known that the support for the rear lever arm of the pivoting lever has a fixed part attached to the cabinet element. Here the support is designed as a stop bar which is fastened to the cabinet element by screws.
This design has the disadvantage that loosening and reinserting the screws is very time-consuming on the one hand, and that on the other hand only two positions of the bar are possible. In the invention, however, the step wedge, which can be adjusted very quickly, for. B. can be provided with four and even more stages. The design according to the invention is therefore not only simpler and easier to handle, but also considerably expands the number of possible setting positions of the table top.
In a further embodiment of the invention it is provided that the step wedge is resiliently biased against its guidance on the lever arm, which on the one hand provides the certainty that the position of the step wedge does not automatically change inadvertently and that on the other hand no additional manipulations are carried out prior to the adjustment thereof Loosening a lock or the like are necessary.
The invention is explained below with reference to the embodiment shown in the drawings. FIG. 1 shows a side view of a cabinet element designed according to the invention and FIG. 2 shows detail II from FIG. 1 on an enlarged scale.
The cabinet element --1--, which is designed as a television screen, connects to a recess in the cabinet wall for the head of a bed, not shown here, with its longitudinal axis essentially perpendicular to the front of the cabinet wall. At the recess
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
On the side facing --3--, the cabinet element --1-- has a swivel mechanism for a table top holder, which allows a table top, not shown here, to be folded over a bed arranged in the recess if necessary.
The swivel mechanism has a two-armed swivel lever --6--, which on the side wall --3--, which runs essentially parallel to the longitudinal axis of the bed, not shown

Friction brake, not shown, is provided. The effect of the friction brake can be adjusted so that when the swivel lever --6-- is swung out from the position shown in dashed lines in Fig. 1 in the direction of arrow --24-- there is no unintentional and safety hazard falling the front lever arm - -12-- can happen.
The swung out front lever arm --12-- has a much greater length than the rear lever arm --13--, which can be swiveled towards the rear of the cabinet element-l-. An adjustable support --14-- is provided for the end of the rear lever arm --13-- (see in particular also Fig. 2). This support --14-- has a system part --25-- fixed on the cabinet element --1-- or on its side wall --3-- and a step wedge that can be moved in the longitudinal direction on the lever arm --13-- - 26-- on. The system part --25-- is fastened to the side wall --3-- by means of the screws --27-- indicated in Fig. 2 and engages in a substantially U-shape around the rear lever arm --13-- or the step wedge - 26--.
The step wedge - 26-, which can for example be designed as a plastic injection molded part, has a slot-shaped, continuous and stepped elongated hole --28--, which together with a hexagon socket screw --29--, which in a threaded hole --30-- im rear lever arm --13-- is screwed in, serves to fix the step wedge --26-- at its respective distance from the pivot point of the swivel lever.
In order to adjust the step wedge - and thus the height adjustment of the front lever arm --12-- over the different distance on the step wedge --26-- --31-- to the longitudinal axis --32-- of the lever arm --13-- and to simplify optionally with the system part --25-- interacting surfaces - the screw --29-- does not act directly on the step wedge --26-- or the stepped elongated hole - -28--, but only via an intermediate one Spring --34--, by means of which the step wedge - against its guidance on the lever --13-- is elastically pretensioned.
