Das Werkzeug arbeitet folgendermassen : Nimmt man die in der Zeichnung wiedergegebene Kolben-und Ventilstellung an, so tritt durch Kanal   h   das Druckmittel vor den Kolben e ; dieser wird   also zurückgetrieben,   während die vor ihm befindliche Luft durch die Kanäle 1, p frei ausströmen kann. In dem Augenblick aber, in welchem der Kolben die Öffnung i für den unteren Zylinderraum frei gibt, findet ein grosser Druckabfall statt, da das durch n und k einströmende Druckmittel durch i frei ausströmen kann. Der Kolben bewegt sich aber infolge seines Beharrungs-   vermögens zunächst weiter   und erzeugt so einen, wenn auch geringen, Überdruck vor sich im Zylinder.

   Dieser geringe Überdruck leitet die Umsteuerung der Ventile b und c ein, die dann durch das   zuströmende, umgesteuerte Druckmittel   vollendet wird. Nunmehr findet Zuströmung zum Zylinder durch die Kanäle g und o, k statt, der Kolben wird also vorwärts getrieben ; gleich-   zeitig findet die vor ihm befindliche Luft durch i bezw. m, q freien austritt. Hat endlich der Kolben   die Öffnung t freigegeben, so wird durch den eintretenden plötzlichen Druckabfall die Umsteuerung beider Ventile in die zuerst angenommene Lage wiederum eingeleitet, ähnlich wie es beim Rück-   wärtsgang   des Kolbens beschrieben war.

   Wie ersichtlich sind die Räume vor und hinter dem Kolben in den geeigneten Augenblicken mit der Atmosphäre in Verbindung gebracht, so dass eine durch Kompression bewirkte schädliche Bremswlrkung auf keiner Kolbenseite auftritt, einerseits also das Werkzeug d mit voller Wucht getroffen wird und andererseits ein Rückstossverm eden wird. 



   PATENT-ANSPRUCHE : 
1. Steuerung für Drucklufthämmer, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass ausser dem Steuerventil noch ein selbsttätig gesteuertes Ausströmungsventil angeordnet ist.
