Abstract
A method of performing thermal shock test runs in liquid- cooled internal combustion engines 1, the running internal combustion engine 1 being charged alternately with cold and hot cooling liquid. In the cooling system of the internal combustion engine 1, the thermostatic valve is replaced by an electrically driven valve 5, the radiator 2 is cooled by an additional blower 4 and, by means of the electrically driven valve 5, the coolant is led alternately through the radiator 2 or the internal coolant circuit 6 on its own. <IMAGE>
