Man

Beispiel 2 : Gerben mittels Phenolen.

Quinone, which you dissolve in water beforehand and apply in several partial amounts to the skin, which is in a vat with a stirrer or, even better, in a drum with water. Man

at the same time it swells considerably. Stirring promotes the spread of the tanning effect inside the skin.
Incidentally, the duration of this tanning process is much shorter if one starts with quinone than if one uses hydroquinone in an alkaline solution and in contact with air.
The tanning process takes about 3 days if you only stir from time to time and this duration can be changed by changing the concentration of the quinone solution.
After tanning, the leather is washed with water, dyed, nourished and finished like chrome leather, depending on the particular commodity that you want to receive.
Example 2: tanning using phenols.
The tanning of sheepskin with hydroquinone in the presence of alkali and in contact with air is taken as an example. 850 grams of hydroquinone are used per 100 kg of green skins, which are dissolved in water with 500 grams of crystallized sodium carbonate.
