detonated. Since the contact piece 7 is insulated from the screw spindle 6, the formation of a short circuit between the screw spindle and the warhead 2 through the sea water is excluded.
The advantages achieved by the ignition device according to the invention are that the external shape of the torpedo and thus its ballistic conditions remain unaffected by the arrangement of the ignition device, if one disregards the fact that the small propeller 8 and the screw spindle 6 protrude from the torpedo body. However, these parts do not affect the required favorable operating conditions of the torpedo.
A deflection of the torpedo from its path by the water resistance of parts of the device which do not protrude axially out of the torpedo body is therefore not possible with the torpedo provided with the ignition device according to the invention. Furthermore, since the inner jacket 3 presents a very large number of contact points, it is irrelevant at which point the Gefectttskopf S is pressed, since the warhead will always come into contact with the inner jacket. Since the circuit is interrupted at two points when the torpedo is used on the ship, and it is only closed at one point when the torpedo is ejected, an explosion of the warhead 2 can occur in the event that the warhead 2 is accidentally depressed Torpedoes do not enter.
In the torpedo shown in the drawing a loaded with a projectile (es @ eschützrohr is arranged. However, this arrangement does not form part of the invention, rather the Zün urrichtung according to the invention is suitable for all torpedoes of any design, even if they are on The type of torpedo shown in the drawing is particularly useful.
The inner jacket 3 can also, instead of being designed in exactly the same way as the warhead 2 according to the drawing, have a different thickness than the latter and need not be directed parallel to the warhead.
PATENT CLAIMS:
1. Electric ignition device for torpedoes and similar projectiles, characterized in that a current- Icitt'nder jacket adapted to the shape of the same is insulated attached to the warhead (2) connected to one pole of the power source (9) of the fuse circuit at a distance from its inner surface and an adjustable contact (7) connected to the other pole of the power source is insulated in the jacket and comes into conductive contact with the jacket (3) when the torpedo is moving.
