Process for printing with thiazine and oxazine dyes.

It is known that certain dyes of the gallocyanin series are advantageously fixed on the fabric in the form of their leuco compounds. For this purpose, the leuco compounds in question were mixed, printed on and steamed with the appropriate stain, generally chromium acetate. Combination with the stain to form the paint and oxidation take place at the same time during steaming. So far, only the dyes seemed above

 nothing further specified.

Further experiments have shown that this method of attachment is not only unsuitable for leuco precursors that are relatively difficult to oxidize, such as those of the triphenylmethane series, but also for the easily oxidizable leuco compounds of azines, safranino, rosin allulins, indulins and acridines.

It has now been found that the ancestor is not limited to the leuco compounds of the gallocyanine dyes, but surprisingly the leuco compounds of the oxazine dyes are generally excellently suited for these purposes. As has been found, the Leuke compounds of thiazine dyes can also be used with equal success. The leuco compounds of these dyestuff classes mixed with the appropriate stain, printed on and steamed, are already completely fixed after t) -. Minutes, while steaming for 30-60 minutes is necessary to fix the dyestuff itself.

This short steaming time has considerable advantages, on the one hand it saves time and steam, on the other hand it allows these very real colors to be steamed in the Mather Platt and to be used on articles that cannot tolerate long steaming.

The following examples serve to explain the procedure:

24 parts acetic acid 30%, 63 parts water,
200 parts tragacanth thickening,
20 parts tannin-acetic acid solution 1: 1,
2 parts of Rongalit C. are printed on and steamed for 2 minutes. Then passed through Brochweinstein as usual.

15 parts of Brillantalizarin G dough (Bayer) obtained Louko compound,
70 parts tragacanth thickening,
15 parts of chromium acetate 20 "B existing printing mass is printed on and steamed for 2 minutes. Other dyes of the groups mentioned, such as the blue stain dyes of German Patent No. 77120, can be used with the same success,
