<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

The invention relates to a nozzle fitting for tubs or pools for whirlpools with an air and a water supply line and with a nozzle cap, in which at least one nozzle opening for water and at least one nozzle opening for air is provided.
Most of the nozzle fittings for tubs or pools for whirlpools either only blow air in, or water is mixed with air in the nozzle and blown together into the tub. This has the disadvantage that large air bubbles form very quickly from the small air bubbles emerging from the nozzle openings. These large air bubbles, which could already be called "air channels", only form small bubbles on the surface, which is no longer useful for the desired massage effect. No bubbles form in the water, which causes the air - although it is e.g. B. is preheated to 60th - is still felt by some people as cold.
This is due to the evaporation cold: if a part of the skin is in such an "air duct", the water evaporates there immediately, which creates a feeling of cold, until the air duct is somewhere else. Then there is the feeling of cold on one other skin area.
From DE 36 30 806 a nozzle fitting for tubs or pools for whirlpools with an air and a water supply line in the fitting housing and a hollow cylindrical nozzle body arranged in the fitting housing is known, which also performs a distributor function.
According to claim 7 of DE 36 30 806, the water-air mixture can be generated outside, before or after the jet opening. However, there is no specific information on how the water-air mixture is generated outside or after the jet opening. According to the exemplary embodiments, the mixing takes place in an intermediate space which adjoins the outlet channel for water radially outward. The water-air mixture enters the bathtub from this space.
A nozzle of the type mentioned is known from EP 613 673 A1. In this nozzle, one nozzle opening for air and one for water are provided in close proximity. According to the drawing, these two nozzle openings are equally aligned, i.e. H. both the air flow and the water jet are directed vertically upwards and therefore do not influence each other. The above-mentioned air channels are also created in this nozzle. According to this provision, water and air are therefore not already mixed in the nozzle so that the pipes can be kept clean more easily: air and water pipes are separated throughout, and the nozzle openings can be closed independently of each other at the point where they enter the tub.
The invention aims to provide a construction in which the air bubbles emerging from the nozzle openings are prevented from clumping together.
This object is achieved according to the invention with a nozzle fitting of the type mentioned at the outset in that the water jet emerging from the nozzle opening for water is directed at the air flow emerging from the nozzle opening for air. Surprisingly, the water jet divides the air jet into nothing but tiny air bubbles. This not only results in a much more pleasant feeling on the skin, it also improves the massage effect and makes the feeling of cold on the skin disappear - even with air that has not been preheated.
In order to accommodate a plurality of nozzle openings for air and water in a nozzle, it is expedient if a fitting housing is provided in which a hollow cylindrical nozzle body, in the wall of which air inlet openings are provided, if a hollow cylindrical distributor is used in the nozzle body, which is used for formation an annular duct in the area from the air inlet openings has an outer diameter that is smaller than the inner diameter of the nozzle body, and if the
Nozzle body and the distributor are closed together by the nozzle cap, in which several
Nozzle openings for water and several nozzle openings for air are provided.
With this design, air and water can enter the nozzle through several nozzle openings at the same time
Bubble bath are introduced, the fine division of the air is retained. The in several thin ones
Air emerging from water jets is atomized immediately after exiting the nozzle openings in such a way that a large number of very small air bubbles are formed instead of a large lump of air.
According to a special embodiment of the invention, the nozzle cap has an annular extension with an internal thread, which projects inwards into the ring channel between the distributor and the nozzle body and with which it is screwed onto the distributor, the extension having an outside diameter which is smaller than the inside diameter of the nozzle body and wherein the nozzle cap is in the area above the manifold
Has nozzle openings for water and in the area above the ring channel nozzle openings for air. This
Embodiment gives the possibility of turning the nozzle cap into one with the ring channel
Connected annular space to create additional air outlet.
According to a further feature of the invention, radial slots are let into the top of the nozzle cap, into which the nozzle openings for air and nozzle openings for water open, the
Nozzle openings for water are located radially inside compared to the nozzle openings for air.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
The advantage of this design is that the air is finely distributed by the water jet after exiting the nozzle openings, which enables a large-area massage.
The invention is explained in more detail with reference to the drawing.
Fig. 1 shows an embodiment of the nozzle fitting according to the invention in longitudinal section, Fig. 2 is a plan view of the associated nozzle cap, Fig. 3 is an illustration as in Flg. 1, but with the nozzle cap raised, FIG. 4 shows another embodiment of the nozzle fitting according to the invention. In section along the line V - V in FIG. 5, FIG. 5 shows a plan view of the associated nozzle cap, and FIG. 6 shows an illustration as in FIG. 4, however with the nozzle cap raised.
As can be seen from FIGS. 1, 3, 4 and 6, the nozzle fitting according to the invention essentially consists of a fitting housing 1, a nozzle body 2, a distributor 3 and a nozzle cap 4 or 4 '. The fitting housing 1 has an air supply line 5 and a water supply line 6. The hollow cylindrical nozzle body 2, which is fastened in the fitting housing 1 by a threaded connection 7, has air inlet openings 8 which are connected to the air supply line 5. With its one end opening 9, the nozzle body 2 is connected to the water supply line 6.
The hollow cylindrical distributor 3 inserted into the nozzle body 2, which is connected to the nozzle body 2 by a threaded connection 10, has an outside diameter from the air inlet openings 8 that is smaller than the inside diameter of the nozzle body 2. In this way, there is between the outside of the distributor 3 and the inside of the nozzle body 2 an annular channel 11 is formed for the penetration of air. The nozzle cap 4 or 4 ′, which has an annular extension 12 projecting into the annular channel 11 between the distributor 3 and the nozzle body 2, is connected to the distributor 3 by a threaded connection 13. The outer diameter of the extension 12 is smaller than the inner diameter of the nozzle body in this area, so that in the continuation of the annular channel 11 an annular channel 11 ′ remains for the passage of air.
As can be seen from FIGS. 1 to 3, 4 nozzle openings 14 for water and nozzle openings 15 for air are provided in the nozzle cap. As can be seen from FIGS. 4 to 6, there are provided in the nozzle cap 4 ', nozzle openings 14, 14' for water and nozzle openings 16 for air. The nozzle openings 14 'and 16 open into radial slots 17 which are embedded in the top of the nozzle cap 4'. The nozzle openings 14 ′ lie radially on the inside in relation to the nozzle openings 16. O-rings 18, 19 and 20 are provided for sealing the individual parts of the nozzle fitting.
Several of the nozzle fittings described can be fastened in a tub for a bubble bath, the flange-like end 22 of the nozzle body 2 and the opposite end 23 of the fitting housing serving for fastening, a G-ring 24 being provided for sealing.
The fitting housing 1 contains on the one hand the supply lines 5 and 6 for air and water and also serves, together with the nozzle body 2, for fastening the nozzle fitting in a tub for a whirlpool. In cooperation with the distributor 3, the nozzle body 2 enables the separate conveyance of air and water to the corresponding nozzle openings. When air and water emerge from the nozzle cap 4 or 4 ′, air and water are swirled, and this air-water mixture reaches the water surface of the bubble bath.
The nozzle fitting works as follows:
The water supplied by means of a pump reaches the nozzle body 2 via the feed line 6 and further via the distributor 3 to the nozzle openings 14, 14 'provided in the nozzle cap 4 or 4'. The air supplied by a blower passes via the feed line 5 and the air intake openings 8 in the nozzle body 2 into the ring channel 11, 11 ′ and from there to the nozzle openings 15 and 16. By rotating the nozzle cap 4 and 4 ′, the latter can be turned relative to the nozzle body 2 are raised, whereby an annular space 21 is formed between the flange-like end 22 of the nozzle body 2 and the nozzle cap 4 or 4 '. which is connected to the ring channel 11 '.
In this way, additional air can escape, which can further enhance the desired massage effect.
