AT 406 185 B The invention relates to a lamp for liquid fuel, with a liquid container in which a wick is suspended from an overhead wick opening, a nozzle is integrally formed on a metal holder and an opening is provided on the nozzle above for receiving the wick, wherein the metal holder is permanently attached to the upper part of the liquid container, and wherein at the connection point between the liquid container and the metal holder, a snap-on catch or a guide groove is formed on the upper part of the liquid container, according to patent No. 398,336, and the liquid container with the metal holder is surrounded by an ornamental cover and the cover opening at the height of the wick Lights are known from AT 379.004 B and AT 382.704 B, but they cannot be secured against the risk of fire because the covers do not extinguish the burning wick. Furthermore, from DE 35 36 852 A and WO 86/04133 A1 a lamp cylinder as wind protection is known, however, these lamp cylinders also do not extinguish the lamp if it tips over. If such lights are knocked over burning, there is a risk that surrounding objects or materials catch fire. Fire protection measures must therefore be taken especially when using the luminaire in public premises. For example, a lamp described in US 4,025,290 A has a tulip-like attachment that sits loosely on a conical socket. If this lamp falls over, the attachment will slip and partially slip over the burning wick. This sometimes suffocates the flame. If the lamp is only switched over, the attachment does not slip. The invention has the task of always ensuring fire protection without an extinguishing attachment. This is achieved according to claim 1 in that the decorative cover is resiliently mounted on the liquid container. The decorative cover now simultaneously forms a safety device for fire protection. Due to its own weight, it presses down on a resilient bearing. If the lamp is knocked over, the resilient bearing pushes up the decorative cover and the flame is extinguished. The decorative cover is mounted with a coil spring for easy assembly of the lamp. The coil spring is particularly adapted to the lamp in that it is conical and its upper diameter is smaller than the inside diameter of the decorative cover and its lower diameter is larger than the diameter of the metal holder and smaller than the diameter of the liquid container. Even better fire protection is achieved in that a decorative projection for a lamp cylinder is attached to the outside of the decorative envelope in a manner known per se. Removing the lamp cylinder already extinguishes the flame. It is simplest if the support projection is a circumferential ring or knobs of the decorative cover. An exemplary embodiment of the invention is shown in the drawing. The figure shows the elevation of the embodiment. The lamp consists of a liquid container FB, onto which a metal bracket MH with socket S is pressed. The socket S holds a wick D. Around the metal holder MH there is a conically wound helical spring SF, which is pressed down by a decorative cover ZH and a lamp cylinder LZ. The decorative cover ZH is made of metal and has an annular support projection AV. The glass lamp cylinder LZ stands on the support ledge AV. The ZH cover is on the surface on which the lamp is placed. The envelope opening is at wick height. The spring constant of the spiral spring SF is so large that the decorative cover ZH is pushed up by the spiral spring SF when the lamp falls over. This extinguishes the flame on wick D. Claims: 1.
