<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
Die Erfindung wird nachstehend anhand von einem in der Zeichnung dargestellten, bevorzugten Ausführungsbeispiel, auf das sie jedoch nicht beschränkt sein soll, noch weiter erläutert. Im Einzelnen zeigen in der Zeichnung : Fig. 1 eine schematische Ansicht einer Schwenkvorrichtung mit einem Hubarm in einer vertikalen Schliessstellung ; Fig. 2 eine schematische Ansicht gemäss Fig. 1 jedoch mit dem Hubarm in einer gegenüber Fig. 1 um 900 verschwenkten Zwischenöffnungsstel- lung ;
Fig. 4), um eine Achse 4 schwenkbar gelagert ist.

Fig. 4) des Fahrzeug-Aufbaus 3 verbunden. Fig. 4).

The invention relates to a pivoting device for a side wall of a vehicle body with a lifting arm pivotably mounted about a first horizontal axis, a cylinder-piston unit being provided for pivoting the lifting arm. Furthermore, the invention relates to a side wall for the construction of a vehicle with a wall part pivotably mounted on the upper longitudinal edge.
From WO 97/34793 A1, a side wall for the construction of a vehicle is known, which is divided into an upper and lower lifting arm, the upper lifting arm being mounted so as to be pivotable about a horizontal axis in the region of the upper transverse frame part of the construction. For pivoting a lifting arm, which is connected to the upper lifting arm in an articulated manner, a substantially horizontal hydraulic lifting cylinder is attached to the upper cross frame part, the piston rod of which is connected to a flexible endless element which is guided around two rollers, the lifting arm being connected to one of the two Rollers is rigidly connected to perform a pivoting movement.
Such a swivel device fulfills its function perfectly, but it has a relatively large number of individual parts and is difficult to assemble and maintain in the area of the upper cross frame part.
FR 2 710 019 A1 also shows a trolley body with a fold-out side wall, in which an essentially horizontal lifting cylinder is also provided in the region of the upper cross strut of the body for pivoting the two-part side wall. Here, however, the piston of the lifting cylinder acts directly on an angular upper lifting arm. A complete collapse of the side wall on the top of the body is not possible.
From DE 31 02 891 A1 a vehicle body is known which has a collapsible rear door, a hydraulic cylinder likewise being provided in the area of the upper frame part, which is connected to the lower part of the rear door via a linkage.
The aim of the present invention is now to create a swivel device of the type mentioned at the outset, which has a reduced number of individual parts compared to known swivel devices, and is therefore less expensive to manufacture. In addition, the simplest possible assembly of the swivel device on the vehicle body and also easy access for any maintenance work should be possible. Another object of the invention is to create a structurally simple, inexpensive side wall.
This is achieved with a swivel device mentioned at the outset, in which the essentially vertically arranged piston is articulated to a lever part at a first point of application, the lever part being pivotally mounted about a lever point which is provided on a swivel arm which is pivotably mounted about a second horizontal axis is, and the lever part is pivotally connected to the lifting arm in a second point of application.
With the help of the lever part, on which the lifting piston and the lifting arm engage in an articulated manner, and which on the other hand performs a tilting movement around a lever point moving on a circular path, an extremely simple, efficient device is created with which the lifting arm or one with the lifting arm connected side wall of a vehicle body can be pivoted between a closed and an open position. In connection with the present invention, the term “vehicle body” is to be understood to mean any type of body on trucks, railroad cars and the like, which of course also includes containers and the like.
The provision of a rotary motor or a linear endless element for transmitting the linear movement of the reciprocating piston into a rotational movement of the lifting arm can thus be dispensed with and this results in a simple, inexpensive pivoting device. Furthermore, the swivel device can only be attached to the vehicle body by means of screw connections, as a result of which elaborate welding work, as was previously necessary for reasons of stability in known swivel devices, can be dispensed with.
In order to allow unhindered access to the vehicle body, it is advantageous if the lifting arm is pivotably pivoted essentially by 2700 between an essentially vertical closed position and an essentially horizontal open position. By pivoting the lifting arm by approx. 2700, the side wall, which is connected to the lifting arm, comes into a horizontal position above the vehicle body in its open position, as a result of which the smallest possible wind attack area is provided.
For swiveling the lifting arm from a vertical closed position into a horizontal one
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
With regard to favorable lever ratios, it is advantageous if the lever position is arranged essentially centrally between the first and the second point of application of the lever part.
In particular, it is favorable if a hydraulic cylinder is provided as the cylinder-piston unit, the use of pneumatic cylinders also being conceivable.
In order to enable the cylinder-piston unit to be pivoted during a pivoting process, it is advantageous if the cylinder-piston unit is pivotably mounted on a vertical strut of the structure, it being particularly advantageous for the rotary movement of the cylinder-piston unit if the cylinder-piston unit is pivotally mounted in its lower end region about a horizontal axis. It is advantageous for efficient power transmission if the cylinder-piston unit is not pivoted substantially from its essentially vertical position, the pivoting angle of the cylinder-piston unit between the closed and open positions being less than 50.
The side wall for the construction of a vehicle according to the type mentioned at the outset is characterized in that an above-mentioned pivoting device is provided for pivoting the wall part, the lifting arm of which is articulated to the wall part.
To swivel the side wall, only a single swivel device is sufficient, which can be attached to the front or rear wall of the vehicle body, so that no hydraulic lines have to be laid inside the body. This results in a particularly cost-efficient design of the pivotable side wall.
In order to prevent twisting of the side wall, which usually consists of thin steel or aluminum sheet or plastic panels, it is advantageous if a shaft aligned with the horizontal pivot axis of the wall part is provided for transmitting the torque applied by the pivoting device; Thus, the torque introduced by the pivoting device is transmitted uniformly over the entire length of the side wall and twisting of the side wall can be avoided.
Alternatively, in the case of a particularly large side wall, it can be advantageous if the side wall or the wall part is assigned a swiveling device on both sides, whereby twisting of the side wall can also be avoided.
In conventional vehicle bodies, for example trucks, freight wagons or the like, it is advantageous because of the standardized mass (height) of the vehicle body to completely cover the side surface of the vehicle body if a lower wall part is articulated on the lower longitudinal edge of the upper wall part is appropriate.
To stabilize the lower wall part, it is advantageous if a handlebar is pivotally mounted on the lower wall part and on the structure.
With regard to the most compact possible shape of the pivoted side wall and to avoid wind attack surfaces, it is favorable if the lower wall part in the open end position is arranged horizontally above the upper wall part lying horizontally on the roof of the structure.
In order to comply with the legal provisions that the standardized dimensions of the vehicle body in the closed state of the side wall must not protrude laterally or upwards beyond the vehicle body, it is advantageous if in a vertical position pivoted downwards Sidewall, the sidewall forms the envelope of the structure.
The invention is explained in more detail below on the basis of a preferred exemplary embodiment shown in the drawing, to which, however, it should not be restricted. 1 shows a schematic view of a swivel device with a lifting arm in a vertical closed position; FIG. 2 shows a schematic view according to FIG. 1, however, with the lifting arm in an intermediate opening position pivoted by 900 compared to FIG. 1;
3 shows a schematic view of the swivel device according to FIGS. 1 and 2 with the lifting arm in a horizontal open position; 4 shows a schematic view of a side wall with an upper and lower wall part in a vertical closed position; and FIG. 5 shows a schematic view of the side wall according to FIG. 4, but in a horizontal open position.
1 shows a swivel device 1 with a hydraulic cylinder 2, the hydraulic cylinder 2, which is preferably provided for mounting on a vehicle body 3 (cf. FIG. 4), being pivotably mounted about an axis 4. A piston 6 of the hydraulic cylinder 2 is in the
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
assembled state of the swivel device 1 via a lever part 7 and a lifting arm 5 connected to a side wall 14 (see FIG. 4) of the vehicle body 3. 1 shows the lifting arm 5 in its essentially vertical closed position, in which a side wall 14 connected in an articulated manner to the lifting arm 5 covers an open side surface of the vehicle body 3 (cf. FIG. 4).
In order to pivot the lifting arm 5 into the open position (cf. FIG. 3), the piston 6 of the hydraulic cylinder 2 is connected to a lever part 7 via an axis or an engagement point 8. The lever part 7 has a lever point 9 about which it is pivotally mounted, the lever point 9 being located on a pivot arm 10 which is pivotally mounted on the vehicle body 3 about a horizontal axis 11. In addition to the first point of action 8 of the piston 6, the lever part 7 has a second point of action 12, in which it is pivotally connected to the lifting arm 5. The lifting arm 5 is in turn pivoted about the horizontal axis 13.
EMI3.1
transferred (see 3).
In FIG. 2, the piston 6 is displaced upward into a retracted position compared to that shown in FIG. 1, as a result of which the lifting arm 5 makes a 90 rotation. The cylinder 2 or the piston 6 pivot only by about 5 during the opening of the lifting arm 5.
In Fig. 3 the piston 6 is shown in its extended extreme position, whereby the lever part 7 tilts about the lever point 9 and thus the lifting arm 5 performs a pivoting movement about the axis 13, whereby the lifting arm 5 comes to rest in its horizontal open position in which it is rotated by approximately 270 relative to the vertical closed position shown in FIG. 1.
4 shows a side wall 14 with an upper wall part 15 and a lower wall part 15 'which is connected to the upper wall part 15 in an articulated manner. The upper wall part 15 is fastened to the structure 3 and is pivotably mounted about a horizontal axis 13 ′, the axis 13 ′ possibly also being able to coincide with the horizontal axis 13.
The cylinder 2 is mounted on a vertical strut 17 of the structure 3 so as to be pivotable about the axis 4. For reliable covering of the side surface of the structure 3, the lower wall part 15 ′ is connected to a vertical strut 17 of the structure 3 via a pivotably mounted link 16, the link 16 being able to have a length compensation, as is described in more detail in WO 97/34793 A1 , In the embodiment shown in FIGS. 4 and 5, the link 16 has a spring 16 ′ for length compensation.
5 shows the side wall 14 in its open position, in which the lower wall part 15 ′ comes to lie in a substantially horizontal position above the upper wall part 15. The horizontal, collapsed position of the two wall parts 15, 15 ′ in the open position results in a very compact design which offers a very small area exposed to the wind. In the open position shown in FIG. 5, access to the open side surface of the vehicle body 3 is thus possible, as a result of which the vehicle body 3 can be loaded or unhindered. can be discharged.
As can be seen from FIGS. 4 and 5, the swiveling device is attached to a vertical strut 17 on the front or rear wall of a vehicle body 3, as a result of which, in addition to simple installation, particularly easy access is also possible for any maintenance work. In addition, no hydraulic line or the like has to be laid inside the vehicle body.
The torque transmission from the swivel device 1 to the upper wall part 15 can take place in the case of side walls with a relatively small area only by the lateral engagement of the lifting arm 5. In the case of larger wall surfaces, a swiveling device 1 can be provided on both sides to avoid twisting of the side wall 14. As an alternative to this, a rotating or torsion shaft (not shown) can also be provided in alignment with the horizontal pivot axis 13 ′ of the upper wall part 15, which evenly distributes the torque introduced by the pivoting device 1 over the entire side wall 14. Unwanted twisting of the side walls, which mostly consist of thin aluminum or steel sheet, can thus be prevented.
