Description

   <Desc/Clms Page number 1>

The invention relates to a heater with heat-sensitive components according to the preamble of the independent claim.

In gas-powered heaters, a fuel gas-air mixture is burned, the hot combustion gases are cooled in an exhaust gas heat exchanger and then passed outside through an exhaust pipe. A coaxial exhaust system is frequently used, in which the fresh air line is guided concentrically around the exhaust line. Part of the heat contained in the exhaust gas is therefore transferred to the fresh air via the common wall of the coaxial exhaust system. This results in high temperatures in the housing.

From DE 41 06 273 and JP 07-063321 it is known that components which themselves generate a great deal of heat can be cooled by means of a heat-conducting connection to the water circuit. The thermal radiation of components in electrical water heaters as in DE 41 06 273 is very low; only the electric radiator within the water circuit is designed to generate significant heat; goes directly to the water cycle and does not cause heating in the device housing. From JP 07-063321 it is known that the waste heat from components can be cooled by a heat-conducting connection to the water cycle.

It is not known that components of a heating device are heated by coaxial exhaust gas lines and vacuum chambers and that more heat than that which is generated by the components to be cooled must be dissipated.

Heaters often have a closed chamber, the so-called vacuum chamber, into which the combustion air flows and which flows around the combustion chamber of the heater. The vacuum chamber has two functions: no exhaust gases from the combustion chamber can get into the environment, since leakage currents would get into the vacuum chamber and be directed there into the exhaust system with the fresh air via the burner.

On the other hand, the fresh air absorbs heat loss from the combustion chamber so that the heat remains in the system.

However, the use of the heat losses through the coaxial exhaust system and the vacuum chamber means that the air in the vacuum chamber is heated up considerably and some components in the heater can therefore only emit insufficient heat. Since temperatures above 120 C can occur in such heaters, malfunctions of heat-sensitive components cannot be ruled out.

The object of the invention is therefore to provide a heater in which heat-sensitive components can be adequately cooled.

According to the invention, this is achieved in a heater of the type mentioned at the outset by the characterizing features of the independent claim.

The proposed measures can ensure that the components are adequately cooled, since the water cycle is used as the cooling medium. Low-temperature heaters have a flow temperature of around 40 C and a return temperature of around 30 C; Even with old building heating systems, the flow temperature is not higher than 80 C, which is sufficient to cool the components. In addition, the waste heat is transferred to the heating circuit and is therefore not lost.

The features of claim 2 result in the advantage that the particularly low temperature of the heating return is used for cooling.

The invention will now be explained in more detail with reference to the drawing. 1 shows a heating device according to the invention.

A heater has a burner 1 which burns a fuel gas-air mixture. The burner 1 is supplied with combustion air and a gas valve 19 with fuel gas via a fan 4. The exhaust gases from the burner 1 flow through the combustion chamber 11, which is located in an encapsulated combustion chamber 12. The exhaust gases are cooled in a heat exchanger 2 and thus the water of a water circuit 3, which is driven by a pump 13 and in which water enters the heater via the return line 17 and leaves the heater via the supply line 18, is heated. The cooled exhaust gas is released through an exhaust pipe 9.

The blower 4 has a drive motor 6 and control electronics 14. The heater also has a control 15, which controls the control electronics 14, among other things.

The control electronics 14 and the control 15 are connected to the return line 17 in order to ensure cooling. Good cooling is achieved if, for example, heat sinks

the control electronics 14 and the control 15 are connected via a thermal paste to flattened pipe parts of the return line 17.
