EMI1.1
The present invention relates to a machine for the simultaneous production of several radial longitudinal slots in tool handles or the like by means of several circular saws arranged at angles to one another. The object of the invention is the clamping device for the workpieces, which allows the central clamping of the loosely inserted workpieces and the passage of the same between the saws and brings about the automatic release of the workpieces after sawing.
An example embodiment of the machine is shown in FIGS. It is used to slit tool handles up to the axis of the same at angular intervals of 1200.
It consists of a table top t resting on three feet fl, and f3, on which three electric motors mI, 1112 and m3 are screwed adjustable. The axes of the same each carry a circular saw, and their circumferences stand together in a known manner at one point, and their planes have certain angles, e.g. B. in this case of 120 each include.
The work (tool handle) h to be slit is held between the upper clamp rod c and the lower clamp rod g. The upper rod c is mounted in the cast piece b carried by three columns rl, T2 and T3 so that it cannot rotate, but is axially displaceable. At the lower end it has three slots at angular intervals of 1200 each, in which the three circular saws sl, s2 and 83 can run freely during the up and down movement of the rod c without touching the latter; it also has a funnel-shaped cavity below for the central clamping of one end of the workpiece h. The downward stroke of the clamping rod c is limited by the clamp d. Weights e are used to regulate the clamping pressure.
The lower clamping rod g is mounted vertically displaceably in a stand a, has a funnel-shaped cavity at the upper end for centering the work pieces and is connected to the treadmill m, k, i by a clamp u. The weight 1 attached to the lower end of the rod g pulls the rod into the low position when the step m is released.
For the purpose of sucking off the chips, a suction box n is mounted on the table t, through the end of which the falling chips can be sucked off in the direction of the arrow p by means of any known chip transport device. The replaceable wooden funnel o is arranged in the table t for easy introduction of the work pieces h. Together with the suction box n, it forms an annular channel in which the sawdust entering through slots is first collected.
The lines q, q in Fig. 1 represent safety nets installed for the purpose of accident prevention.
The operation of the machine is as follows: While the two clamping rods c and g are in the lower position, the booklet h to be slit is pushed by hand into the wooden funnel o from below and then inserted into the cavity in the upper end of the guide rod g. With the foot the step m is then moved downwards and thereby the work piece h by means of the lever mechanism k, i and the rod y into the funnel-shaped cavity of the upper guide
