Die bisher gebräuchliche Anordnung einer Manschette am unteren Teil des Sockels zur Führung des Mastes oder der Säule entspricht nicht dieser Forderung, da die Manschette im Betonklotz festsitzt und ein Aufheben des Sockels von der Erde daher unmöglich ist. Sie verhindert weiters den freien Zutritt der Luft zum unteren Teil des Mastes, sowie den Abfluss des in den Sockel eingedrungenen Wassers.
