D r u c k m e ss v o r r i c t u n g für zusammendrückbares Material.

PRESSURE MEASURES FOR COMPRESSABLE MATERIAL.
Up to now pressure gauges of the most varied constructions have become known, but they can only be used for liquids in general.
These pressure gauges cannot be used for compressible material for the reason that this material cannot act directly on the pressure gauge. Determining the pressure for compressible material is an advantage wherever you want to convince yourself whether the press used to squeeze mash or fruit (grapes, pears, apples) or other materials is able to provide the necessary pressure.
The pressure measuring device for such material consists of a housing provided with a movable wall, from the inside of which a line leads to a beliannten pressure gauge (manometer), so that the pressure exerted by the material on the movable wall is measured between this and the manometer benndlicho liquid is transferred to the latter.
EMI1.1
The device shown consists of a housing J, which on its upper edge receives a membrane 2, preferably made of rubber or leather, which is clamped at its edge by a cover 3 to be screwed onto the housing, so that it extends the interior of the housing to the outside closes tightly, but can perform movements itself. A guide piston 4 is attached to the underside of the membrane, while a plate 5 is attached above the membrane.
The purpose of this device is to prevent the membrane from bending and damaging only in places. A pipe 6 branches off from the interior of the housing, to which a pressure gauge 7 of known construction is connected.

liquid is transferred to the manometer 7, on which the specific pressure in atmospheres can then be read. The membrane can be replaced by another movable wall, e.g.
B. a tightly fitting piston to be replaced.

additional, this can be built into a press. The easiest way to do this is to insert the housing 1 into one of the press walls.
