usually called switchboard contacts. In the illustrated switching device, 50 such end contacts are provided in each series for each switching device. Each side of each subscriber line is connected to one of these end contacts in such a way that one of the end contacts of one and the second of a different series belongs, the series of contacts being arranged vertically one above the other. The third end contact for each line is located in a local circuit called the actuation circuit and controlled by a relay which is also connected to the subscriber line so that it is actuated whenever the normally open subscriber line is closed.
This relay is called the "line relay" and there is one line relay for each subscriber line, while 50 lines are connected to each finder switch. The subscriber lines are usually commonly connected to a number of switching devices so that when the number of finder switches is 10% each subscriber line is commonly connected to five switching devices, but this can be changed to meet different requirements.
In the line connecting each subscriber line to the line relay that controls the actuating circuit, a circuit breaker is switched on, which is controlled by a relay called a "trip relay". This relay is always activated as soon as the subscriber line is through a finder switch with a following switch, such as. B. Selector or contact switch, has been connected, and it is switched off in this way when the speech circuit is made, the line relay from the speech circuits.
The actuation circuit of each line is in the normal or open position of the line such that when the third or the actuation contact arm of the switching device with the end contacts of this

receives and moves the switch lever one step further or from the mentioned end contacts, so that when the switch lever is set in motion and all mentioned actuating circuits are in normal position, the switch lever receives a current surge from each end contact and in this way over the whole Series of end contacts will gradually advance. When the line relay is energized. it opens this actuation circuit and closes another circuit, which is called the "Antrichbsstromkreis" and which the actuation
EMI2.3
This is then the underlying cause of the actuation of the finder switch, i.e. H. Closing the subscriber line closes a drive circuit that causes the Scha! tvorrichtuug. with which the mentioned line is connected, sets in motion and opens an actuating circuit belonging to that line, so that when the switch lever connected to the end contacts of the actuating circuit comes into contact with the actuating end contacts of the line closed in this way, the switching device stops because it no longer receives electricity.
Associated with each finder switch is an auxiliary switching device or circuit breaker called the "normally lifted" switch, which in its normal position establishes a connection from the drive wire or drive circuits to the operating mechanism of the finder switch which, however, as soon as the switch lever has made a step The drive circuit interrupts and connects the actuation mechanism of the switching device to the actuation circuits controlled by the relays of the various subscriber lines.
In the drawings there is shown a fourth contact arm or switch lever and a fourth switchboard or series of end contacts for each finder switch.

At the rear ends of the contact levers there are contact segments 10a, 11a, 17a and 18a which are in contact with the brushes lob, 11b, 17b and 18b. The brushes are isolated from each other and are attached to one at one end of the frame. 9 attached holder 79 carried.

bond made from trip wire c to earth. The relay ('3 still receives power via the previously described supplementary circuit to earth at Z70. Assuming that the subscriber line you are looking for is no. 4, it is only necessary to supply four current pulses by opening and closing the subscriber line four times send so that the contact switch lever gets to the fourth line.

This prevents another finder switch, with which subscriber B is jointly connected, from standing still on his line when the receiver is picked up, and the line is also made unreceptive for calls made by the subscriber himself
