Abstract

Die Erfindung betrifft einen Heizkessel zur Verbrennung von festen Brennstoffen, mit einem Heizmedium führenden Kesselkörper (1), einem Füllraum (2) für Brennstoff mit einer oberen oder seitlichen Befüllöffnung (3), einem Brennrost (4) mit einem darunter angeordnetem Aschekasten (5), einer Primärluftzuführung im Bereich des Füllraumes, einer Verbrennungsgasaustrittsöffnung (6) in eine nachgeschaltete Wirbelkammer (7) sowie mit einem sich anschließenden Wärmetauscher für das Heizgas, wobei in die Wirbelkammer (7) in der Nähe einer Stirnseite von außen her Verbrennungsgase und/oder Sekundärluft eintreten. Der Erfindung liegt die Aufgabe zu Grunde, die Verbrennungsqualität von Heizkesseln und Öfen zur Verbrennung von festen Brennstoffen, insbesondere Biomasse, zu optimieren. Erfindungsgemäß umfasst die Wirbelkammer (7) einen ersten hohlzylindrischen Bereich (7a) und einen damit über einen Querschnittssprung (8) gekoppelten zweiten Bereich (7b) in der Form eines rotationssymmetrischen Hohlkörpers mit einer stirnseitigen Ausmündung (9) für die Verbrennungsgase.
