    Momentkniehebel schalter.

    Momentary toggle switch.

At high currents, the springs of the usual momentary lever switches are so strong that the operation of the same requires a disproportionate effort. In order to facilitate the actuation of the switch, a toggle lever transmission has therefore been used.
 EMI1.1
because the contact surfaces of the lamellae or brush blades are rounded off cylindrically, so that ultimately each lamella only rests along a generatrix of this cylinder. The result is a significantly poorer current transfer and the associated disadvantages. Finally, the known arrangement requires the switch (toggle lever) to be locked in order to prevent it from being opened unintentionally, which is not necessary with the new device.

The subject of the present invention is a moment toggle switch, at

be pressed in. This results in an intimate and appropriate grinding in of the brushes. Finally, in order to make switching off easier and to avoid the damage to the control panel, which can easily occur when greater force is exerted, in the present arrangement the toggle lever is pushed through against the previous movement before opening the switch.
 EMI1.4
Loosen the frictional connection on the brush holder to pull it towards the shift lever.

The switching lever has a stop 10 or 11 at its lower and upper end. The stationary contact pieces are denoted by 12.
 EMI1.5

is released, the springs 9 snap out the brush holder. When switching off, therefore, only the small amount of force required on the part of the operator to lift the switch rod and push the knee lever through is required.

When switching on again, the inclined plane (stop 11) located at the upper end of the shift lever 1 first hits the shift rod 4 and pushes the same downward. This also pushes the toggle levers downwards and thus spreads the brushes apart perpendicular to the direction of the switching movement. The movement of the shift rod is limited by the stop of the adjusting nut 5. The switching process is then ended by pressing the brushes between the contacts 12. As can be seen from FIG. 2, the stop 11 prevents unintentional opening of the toggle lever, so that a special locking of the switch in the switch position is superfluous.

The setting of the adjusting nuts J is expediently carried out in such a way that the path of the knee joint from the central position to the switch-off position is greater than from the switch-on to the central position. They also allow the movement of the switching rod 4 to be adapted to any wear on the buttons.

The design of the switch itself can vary in many ways.

PATENT CLAIMS: l. Momentary toggle switch, in which the moving contacts are kept under tension by toggle levers in the switched-on position. characterized in that the pressing movement of the brushes does not take place in the plane of the movement of the actual switching lever or in a plane parallel to it, but in another plane which is expediently perpendicular to it.

Claims (1)

2. Embodiment according to claim 1, characterized in that the movable contacts (brushes) are brought into their end position with respect to the toggle lever movement before being introduced into the fixed contacts, in order then to be pressed into the fixed contacts in the manner of the usual knife switches, to achieve a good grinding and thus an intimate contact. 3. 3. Embodiment according to claims l and 2, characterized. that before opening the switch, the toggle lever or the brushes are relaxed, for the purpose of switching off with as little effort as possible.
