Beim Erhitzen Sauerstoff entwickelndes Gemenge.
EMI1.2
<tb>
<tb> Kaliumchlurat <SEP> 75 <SEP> bis <SEP> 90 <SEP> Gewichtsteile
<tb> Eisenoxyd <SEP> (oder <SEP> Braunstein@ <SEP> . <SEP> . <SEP> . <SEP> . <SEP> 10 <SEP> # <SEP> 20 <SEP> #

<tb>
EMI1.3

Oxygen evolving mixture when heated.
The invention relates to an improvement in the composition of batches which develop oxygen when heated. The mixture can contain a chlorate, a perchlorate or one or more similar oxygen carriers as the main constituent, while the secondary constituents used are those bodies which automatically complete the decomposition of the oxygen carrier after it has been initiated at one point by heating. The minor components produce such an effect mainly by releasing heat to the major component. Mixtures of this type are known from German patent specification No. 184268 and can be technically exploited in accordance with this patent.
The purpose of the invention is to cause the main constituent to decompose even below its melting point. Such a reduction is achieved if a small amount of a substance is added to the previously used secondary constituents, which decomposes when heated before the melting temperature of the main constituent is reached, and which, when decomposed, develops a gas which then a! s powerful catalyst acts on the main constituent of the mixture.
EMI1.1
Example of iron, nickel and zinc, and also certain carbonates, such as. B. those of nickel, copper and iron. It is well known that carbonates develop carbon dioxide when heated, and oxalates also develop carbon oxide.
A mixture according to the present invention in which iron oxalate is used can, for example, have the following composition:
EMI1.2
<tb>
<tb> Potassium chlorate <SEP> 75 <SEP> to <SEP> 90 <SEP> parts by weight
<tb> Eisenoxyd <SEP> (or <SEP> Braunstein @ <SEP>. <SEP>. <SEP>. <SEP>. <SEP> 10 <SEP> # <SEP> 20 <SEP> #
<tb> iron powder <SEP>. <SEP>. <SEP>. <SEP>. <SEP> 5 <SEP> # <SEP> 10 <SEP> #
<tb> iron oxalate <SEP>. <SEP>. <SEP>. <SEP>. <SEP>. <SEP>. <SEP>. <SEP>. <SEP>. <SEP> 1/2 <SEP> # <SEP> 2 <SEP> #
<tb>
Iron oxide (or manganese dioxide) can be dispensed with entirely if the amount of oxalate is increased, roughly doubled.
In a similar way, when using nickel carbonate, even without iron oxide, a usable mixture is obtained if one z. H. chooses the following composition:
EMI1.3
<tb>
<tb> Potassium chlorate <SEP> 75 <SEP> to <SEP> 90 <SEP> parts by weight
<tb> iron powder <SEP> 5 <SEP> # <SEP> 10 <SEP> #
<tb> Nickel carbonate <SEP> 2 ,, <SEP> 5 <SEP> "
