drisch ausgebildet.

<Desc/Clms Page number 5>

The object of the invention is to increase the packaging volume compared to the packaging container mentioned at the outset, to save material in the fuselage area and to achieve sufficiently high vacuum strength.
This object is solved by the features of claim 1. Tinplate is particularly suitable as the material for the packaging container. The lid can e.g. B. be designed as a tear-open cover. The cylindrical first and second sections of the fuselage allow the use of conventional lids and bottoms and the closing on conventional closing machines. Through the convex
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
In the third section, a zone of reduced wall thickness results from an initially cylindrical fuselage and thus material savings with an increased volume. The strength values of a fuselage designed according to the invention are at least equivalent to those of a corresponding cylindrical fuselage.
The strength properties of the fuselage are further improved by the features of claim 2. The concave fourth and fifth sections form favorable fillet-like transitions between the adjacent first to third sections.
According to claim 3, a transition in terms of production engineering and strength is achieved between the second and third sections.
The features of claim 4 serve to further increase strength in the area of the fuselage.
The features of claims 5 or 6 result overall in favorable manufacturing and functional properties for the packaging container.
The same applies to the features of claims 7 or 8.
The features of claim 9 lead to a packaging container that is particularly simple in terms of production technology and handling. The fuselage may also have a slight angularity due to the effect of expansion tools.
According to claim 10, there is a particularly favorable ratio between material savings and strength of the packaging container.
A packaging container according to claim 11 is particularly favorable in terms of manufacture, storage and handling.
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
The invention is explained in more detail below with reference to the embodiment shown in the drawing.
The drawing shows the side view of a rotationally symmetrical packaging container, partly in section.
A packaging container 1 made of tinplate has a body 2, the axial openings of which are closed by a bottom fold 3 by a bottom 4 and by a lid fold 5 by a lid 6 in a manner known per se.
The packaging container 1 is rotationally symmetrical about its longitudinal axis 7.
The fuselage 2 is designed in a special way and has the following axial sections: Following the bottom rebate 3, a relatively short, cylindrical first section 8, followed by a concave fourth section 9 up to a turning point 10 of the outer contour of the fuselage 2 Turning point 10 then a convex third section 11 bulging outwards towards the bottom 4 up to a turning point 12 of the outer contour of the fuselage 2; at the turning point 12, a concave fifth section 13; and then a relatively long, cylindrical second section that extends up to the lid fold 5
14.
The fourth section 9 is shorter in the axial direction than the fifth section 13. The fourth section 9 and the fifth section 13 each merge continuously into the two sections 8, 11 and 11, 14 adjacent to them.
This results in a particularly favorable transmission of an axial force introduced into the cover 6 through the fuselage.
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
The largest cross-sectional area 15 of the third section 11 is arranged in approximately 35% of the axial length of the trunk 2 between the bottom fold 3 and the cover fold 5, measured from the bottom fold 5. The largest radius of the third section 11 lying in this largest cross-sectional area 15 is larger than the radius of the first section 8 by about 10% of the axial length of the trunk 2 between the bottom fold 3 and the cover fold 5 in the exemplary embodiment shown.
In the exemplary embodiment shown, the radius of the first section 8 is also equal to the radius of the second section 14.
