Reinforcement iron for reinforced concrete structures.

The subject of the invention is a reinforcing iron provided with transverse ribs for reinforced concrete structures, which, due to its cross-sectional shape, has the advantage over the previously known reinforcing iron that it ensures a very firm binding of its surface to the concrete.

Fig. 1 of the drawing illustrates the reinforcing iron formed according to the invention in a longitudinal section, while Fig. 2 shows a cross section through the same.

The reinforcing iron has a crescent-shaped profile and is embedded in the concrete with the concave surface facing up. To increase the sliding resistance, it is on the lower convex and upper concave surface in a known manner with transverse
 EMI1.1
this connected to one another by means of a longitudinal rib 3 for the purpose of increasing the sliding resistance.

As is well known, a concrete mixture is first poured onto the reinforcing iron, which is thinner and richer in cement than the later poured. All previously known reinforcing irons have a convex or flat surface at the top, which results in the disadvantage that these convex or flat surfaces are not able to hold the first poured thin liquid and high-moment concrete, or not sufficiently, because it flows off laterally from the reinforcing iron. The reinforcing iron formed according to the invention, however, thanks to the upper concave surface, catches the thin concrete and holds it completely firmly.

As a result of the convex underside, the later poured concrete can easily get under the reinforcing iron from the side, so that good bonding of the reinforcing iron to the concrete is also ensured on the underside.
