Dieses Stillstehen des jeweils letzten Flechtwerkzeuges hat auch zur Folge, dass der letzte Flechtdraht zwischen zwei Knotenpunkten in einer langgestreckten Windung um den Endkettendraht geschlungen wird, wodurch das Geflecht einen kräftigen Abschluss erhält.
