Automatic tool relocating device for hammer-like drilling machines.

In the known transfer devices of hammer-like drilling machines, the piston is guided in a straight direction in the housing and the twist thread formed on its rod engages in a nut which is arranged between the rod and the tool holder and is coupled to the latter by a locking mechanism. When the piston goes down, the nut is loosely rotated in the tool holder, while the tool holder is taken along and rotated by the locking mechanism when the piston moves.

The invention relates to a hammer-like compressed air tool in which both the straight guidance of the piston and the interposed nut are avoided. The piston is arranged in the housing so that it can rotate freely, and only the inertia of the thrown back piston serves to generate the counterpressure required to rotate the tool holder. The twist thread of the piston rod therefore engages in the tool holder itself and this is prevented from rotating by a locking device when the piston enters, so that the piston rotates in it while it is threatened by this when the piston retracts.

There is also the further advantage that the piston is not braked on the downward path before the impact by a rotating locking mechanism.

An exemplary embodiment is shown in the drawing. Fig. 1 shows a longitudinal section through the transfer device, while Fig. 2 illustrates a cross section along the line x-x. The piston rod a of the hammer-like acting drilling machine is provided with spiral-shaped trains or surfaces b, which also end in the

The implementation of the tool carrier d takes place in the following way:

tallflachen c granted a rotation in the longitudinal axis, which makes up a fraction of its circumference. When the impact on the tool occurs, the piston adopts the opposite direction of movement to the right. Here, the twist surfaces b, c cause a rotation of the work / eugträgers d in the direction of the arrow, the teeth e sliding away under the pawls f. The cause of the rotation of the body d is that the
