Injection device for internal combustion engines.
In machines with fuel injection, which compress the compressed air in the working cylinder and push it into an adjoining space, the pressure in the adjoining space is lower than in the working cylinder during the compression stroke of the working cylinder. It can therefore, irrespective of whether the transfer of the injection air to the adjoining room occurs through a special valve or through the injection device, as long as compressed air from the working cylinder to the adjoining room through the injection device and displace or burn the fuel present in front of the nozzle hood until the pressure is reached in the working cylinder has become less than in the adjoining room and the injection air, due to its excess pressure, can flow back to the cylinder and inject the fuel.
There are now known injection devices that have two parallel-connected lines, one of which contains the fuel pocket and which connect the working cylinder to the compressed air space when the nozzle needle is open.
According to the invention, the nozzle needle first exposes only one of these lines during its opening movement, so that pressure equalization takes place from the cylinder to the adjoining space without the contents of the fuel pocket being displaced from its position,
EMI1.1
is provided with a slot f in which the pin g seated in the fuel needle a engages, in such a way that the sleeve d is only lifted when the needle a has already completed a certain part of its stroke. The channel h starts from the upper part of the fuel pocket and opens into the nozzle immediately behind the conical seal of the fuel needle.
The method of operation of the device is readily apparent. When the fuel needle a is raised, the lower opening of the channel h is first free and establishes the connection between the cylinder interior and the space o above the fuel, whereby a pressure equalization occurs between the two spaces. The fuel is therefore not pushed back, even if the pressure in the cylinder were temporarily higher than in the fuel pocket. Only then is the sleeve d raised by means of the pin g and as soon as the necessary pressure difference is present as a result of the pressure drop in the cylinder. the injection of the bronze takes place.
In FIG. 2, a again means the needle, b the pocket and c the feed line for the fuel. The sleeve o is omitted here. The stroke of the fuel needle is chosen so large that it first opens the compensation channel h and in the further course of its stroke also the fuel pocket b.
