Bei der Anordnung nach Fig. 3 und 4 wird die Druckluft für gewöhnlich durch ein Ventil o am Eintritt in das Rohr j gehindert. Dieses Ventil steht unter dem Einfluss einer Feder und des Luftdruckes und wird während jeder Umdrehung des Kükens einmal geöffnet. Zur Betätigung des Ventiles o dient ein Daumenansatz q eines Kettenrades r, der gegen eine am Ende der Ventilspindel tangeordnete Anschlagrolle 8 trifft und dadurch das Ventil o von seinem Sitz abhebt.
Eine zweckmässige Lage der Öffnung e in bezug auf den Stutzen f ist in Fig. 3 mit strichlierten Linien dargestellt.
Das Austrittsrohr jmündet bei dem dargestellten Ausführungsbeispiel in das Ausstossrohr g der Pumpe h, doch könnte die Leitung f auch in das Saugrohr der Pumpe münden, wenn man die Mischung von Asche und Wasser durch die Pumpe hindurchgehen lassen will.
Die Druckluft wird durch einen rotierenden Kompressor 6 erzeugt, der mit einem Motor v gekuppelt ist. Im übrigen kann ein Windkessel 7 und eine Druckmesser 8 an das Druckrohr 9 in bekannter Weise angeschlossen sein.
In allen Fällen muss der Druck der Luft hinreichend sein, um den Wasserdruck, der von der der Eintauchtiefe des Schiffes entsprechenden Wasserhöhe und von der Leistung der Wasserpumpe abhängt, so zu überwinden, dass das Wasser nicht in das Hahnküken eintreten kann.

In the arrangement according to FIGS. 3 and 4, the compressed air is usually prevented from entering the pipe j by a valve o. In the embodiment shown, the outlet pipe opens into the discharge pipe g of the pump h, but the line f could also open into the suction pipe of the pump if the mixture of ash and water is to be allowed to pass through the pump.
The compressed air is generated by a rotating compressor 6 which is coupled to a motor v. In addition, an air chamber 7 and a pressure gauge 8 can be connected to the pressure pipe 9 in a known manner.
In all cases, the pressure of the air must be sufficient to overcome the water pressure, which depends on the water level corresponding to the immersion depth of the ship and on the performance of the water pump, so that the water cannot enter the tap.
