In order to move the table in the longitudinal direction of the shaft 22 according to the thickness of the sole edge without changing the angular position, a second clamping sleeve 39 is attached to the lower end of the sleeve 28, which is guided by a pin 47 reaching into a cutout and a has lateral pin 40, via which an angle lever 41, 43 engages, which is rotatable about a fixed pin 42 and is connected by a coupling rod 44 to a pedal lever, not shown. A spring, not shown, which also acts on the rod 44, tends to move it upwards and thereby raise the table, while the table can be lowered by means of the pedal lever for inserting and removing the workpiece.
The knurling tool 60 is mounted on an arm 61 which is rotatable about the axis of the shaft 22. The arm 61 is for this purpose with a hub 62 which surrounds the sleeve 28 and in the

after being set herein. For this purpose, the end of the axle is provided with several grooves into which a catch 66 rotatable about the axle 67 is inserted. A spring 68 holds the trap in the engaged position determined by FIG. After pushing back the latch, the knurling tool can easily be removed and adjusted.
The arm 61 is rotated (Fig. 1 and 4) so that the axis 65 forms an angle with the vertical center plane of the table M, M (Fig. 4) and the effective part of the knurling tool 60 is entirely on one side of this center plane on the one from which the feed takes place. The drive of the knurling tool is set up in such a way that it never exceeds the mentioned center plane, in which the distance between the lower edge of the knurling tool and the surface of the table 24 is smallest.
The drive of the knurling tool er! u! gl through a crank pin 74 on the shaft 59, as is necessary with regard to the angular position between this shaft and the axis of rotation of the arm 61, by means of a universal joint. The pin 74 engages in a block 3, which is vertically displaceable in a cylindrical block 70. The block 70 can rotate in a bearing sleeve 69, but vertical displacement of the block against the sleeve is prevented by a plate 72 which engages in a cutout of the block 70 (Figs. 1 and 2). The

no jamming occurs. By means of this device, an oscillation of the arm 61 about the axis of the shaft 22 is produced.
The remaining components of the relative movement of the pin 74 against this oscillation axis remain ineffective. The drive is regulated in this way. that the lower edge of the knurling tool 60 exceeds the center plane M - M mf'ht shown in FIG. 4.
