Bei Verwendung von Glättlinealen oder Glättssächen kann die Anordnung derart go- troffen werden, dass die Lineale wahrend des Einführens des Bleches in das Bad durch ;

Process for the production of pore-free, high gloss accepting, galvanostegic coating "made of tin or tin alloys on sheet metal. @ It is known that galvanostegic coatings made of tin or tin alloys require a far lower tin consumption than is the case with those processes @ in which the Plates to be coated are immersed in a bath of molten tin or tin alloys.
The electrostatic coatings, however, have the disadvantage of porosity, for which reason they neither take on the high gloss nor the rust resistance that is inherent in the sheets produced by the Tanching process after passing through the polishing rollers . The subject of the present invention is a method by which the sheets provided with galvanostegic coatings made of tin or tin alloys are completely
EMI1.1
are decisive, correspond to the same extent as the tinplate produced by the immersion process.
According to the process forming the subject matter of the invention, the sheets, which are usually sized with a galvanostegic coating of tin or tin alloys 1, are placed in molten baths of suitable hydrocarbons, such as vaseline, ceresin, paraffin, fats or oils, which contain organic or inorganic additives Salts (for example zinc chloride, ammonium sodium phosphate, salmiac), heated to the melting temperature of the coating and then drawn through smoothing devices in a known manner, whereby the molten material of the coating is evenly distributed over the entire sheet metal and in a pore-free , smooth and therefore also rustproof
EMI1.2
respectively :
the use of smoothing rollers appears to be recommended. because they make the use of special pulling devices unnecessary and enable the sheet metal to be inserted through the rollers themselves into the bath or furnace and, by reversing the movement of the rollers, with which the pressure can also be increased, it can be lifted or pulled out of the furnace or the bath .
When using smoothing rulers or smoothing surfaces, the arrangement can be made in such a way that the rulers during the introduction of the sheet into the bath through;
EMI1.3
III are pressed against each other in a corresponding manner.
It is self-evident. that, if necessary, the smoothing devices can be cooled
EMI1.4
After leaving the smoothing devices, the sheets are freed from any adhering particles of the bath and can then be treated on suitable roller mills to increase the gloss.
