Description

Process for the production of rod-shaped bodies from a heavy and
The subject of the invention is a process for the production of rod-shaped bodies consisting of a metal that is difficult to melt and a metal that is easy to melt, in particular wires made from billets of wood, the tubular jacket of which is made of metal that is difficult to melt and is heated in the annealing furnace up to approximately the melting temperature .

The novelty of the process forming the invention is that the insertion of the cold core made of easily fusible metal into the highly heated outer jacket takes place in the annealing furnace and the whole thing remains in the furnace until the outer zone of the core begins to melt, whereupon the billet is welded in the usual way by rolling and further processed.

A method for producing metal pipes with a metallic protective coating is known, which consists in that a thick-walled pipe made of difficult-to-melt metal is strongly heated in the annealing furnace, whereupon an easily fusible, thin-walled metal pipe is pushed into the same outside of the annealing furnace in order to jointly to be rolled out in a mandrel, both tubes being pressed into intimate contact with one another.

Since the two tubes to be processed are combined with one another outside of the annealing furnace, oxidation of the contact surface of the strongly heated tube takes place. which, combined with the loss of time and the associated cooling, which occurs from the removal of the heated tube from the annealing furnace to the passage of the two combined tubes through the rollers, precludes welding of the two tubes. According to the present invention, this is avoided in that the core is driven into the highly heated tube located in the annealing furnace and heated within the annealing furnace up to the melting temperature of the outer zone,

whereupon the two metal bodies are welded during the further processing of the rolled nipple produced in this way.

The new process is intended to be used in particular for the production of wires that are made of copper on the outside and aluminum on the inside. For this purpose, an Itohr made of copper and a corresponding core made of aluminum are made. The copper pipe is first placed in a furnace, which is heated to 10,000. brought to this temperature and left in the evenly tempered oven. The aluminum core is then driven under pressure from the outside into the annealing copper tube from the usual temperature. After a short time, the outer zone of the core begins to melt, with the interior of the core having a temperature of approximately 3000.

The further processing by rolling to wire then leads to a welding of the two metals, since during the heating of the core in the tube between the two
Air cannot enter and oxidation of the contact surfaces of the two metal bodies is excluded.
