If the rotational speed of the turbine increases, the speed regulator 8 raises its sleeve, pushes the pilot valve 10 downwards and throttles the central bore 11 in the control valve 1. The press fluid flowing through the nozzle 5 and the lateral bore 12 builds up the large piston 13 and presses this together with the control valve 1 down. If the number of revolutions decreases, the speed regulator lowers its sleeve, lifts the control valve 10 through the intermediary of the double lever 9 and releases the press oil located above the large piston 13 through the central bore 11 to the outlet connection 7.
The liquid chain pressure above the large piston 13 becomes smaller than that prevailing below it

This whole behavior has, the combined with the spring-loaded piston valve 14, which forms an essential object of the invention, covered only small distances. This piston valve 74 is loaded from left to right by the fluid pressure prevailing in space 15 and from right to left by the spring 16.
The piston valve 74 is designed in such a way that it closes the channel M with respect to the channel 19 by a web 17. If the pressure of the press oil arriving through the nozzle 5 is too high, the press oil entering the space 15 through the bore 20 pushes the valve 14 to the right until its web 17 opens the channel 18 opposite the channel 19. Immediately through these two channels from the nozzle 5 arriving press oil passes over the large piston 13 of the control valve 1, pushes it down, gives the press oil its way to the annular chamber 6 and thus to the large piston 3 of the engine.
Its piston moves to the right and closes the inlet devices to the water turbine.
If the pressure of the press oil entering through the nozzle 5 falls below a given level for any reason, the tension of the spring 16 takes on the predominance of the pressure prevailing in the space 15. the control valve 14 is pushed to the left until its web 17 opens the channel 18 again against the channel 19. The press oil flowing through causes the control valve 1 to sink again, the press fluid advances to the piston 3 and the inlet devices of the water turbine close. As a precaution, by installing a sufficiently large air chamber in front of the nozzle 5, you will ensure that the pressure of the incoming press fluid does not drop too quickly, but is sufficient to move the piston 3 to the right and thus shut down the turbine.
Instead of the auxiliary power machine 2 of a water turbine shown in the drawing, a power accumulation device or any other power machine controlled with press fluid can be equipped with a safety device forming the subject of the invention. It is essential for this safety device that it actuates the control in the sense of closing as soon as the pressure of the? The press fluid used for control exceeds a given lower or upper limit.
