The present invention relates to footwear with an insole and a midsole made of felt. The essence of the invention lies in the fact that the seam connecting the upper leather to the insole is also passed through the felt sole, so that the stress on the seam when the sole is bent is reduced due to the flexibility of the felt.
The drawing shows a cross section through the toe part of a shoe manufactured according to the invention.
The edges of the toe and joint parts of the insole 1 are slit and form lips 2 and 3. The lip 2 is folded down and sewn to the upper leather and frame. The midsole 4 made of felt is designed on the toe and joint parts in such a way that it fits into the downwardly folded lips 2 of the insole. The lower side of the felt sole 4 has incisions 6 on the toe and joint parts.
The seam 7 is passed from the lower part of the incision 6 through the outer edge of the felt, through the lip 2 of the insole and through the upper leather 8 and the frame 9, so that the stress on the seam when the sole is bent is due to the flexibility of the felt is decreased. The outsole 10 is sewn or otherwise attached to the frame in a conventional manner. The upper lip 3 of the insole extends over that part of the upper leather which is folded in and down and sewn to the frame. The insert 4 consists of firm, dense felt and is particularly resistant, but at the same time extremely flexible and flexible in contrast to leather.
