Automatic temperature regulator.
There are already automatic temperature regulators in which the thermal expansion of a body is transferred to a valve that regulates the gas supply by a lever system with a tension spring. According to the present invention, the seat of this valve is now located on the end of a hollow, conical pin, bent at right angles, through which the irritant gas flows. By turning this pin, the valve and valve seat can be brought closer or less to one another.
The already known heat absorbing body a is immersed in the substance to be heated (Fig. 4). As a result, it expands, the steel rod b hardly participates in this expansion movement, as a result of which it is moved away from its contact point c with the lever mechanism. The spring d rotates the angle lever e around the point f at the same moment. This re-establishes contact at point c.
At the same time, the lever g, at the end of which the valve h is located, is pushed down by the vertical pin 1, which moves in the slot 2. As soon as the temperature reaches a certain level, the valve h lies down on the valve seat i (FIG. 1).
If it cools down, all parts naturally go back on their way.
The lever g is divided in the middle and ends in the tip k, which is controlled by the so-called "zero tug" 1! a light spiral spring is pulled to the end point of the temperature scale, the stop pin m.
The gas, which is to be used to heat those devices, the temperature of which is to be kept at a certain level by the regulator, takes the following route:
At n, it passes through a pipeline into the interior of the regulator housing as far as the hollow conical pin x, which forms the subject of the present invention. In this it rises (Fig. 3), is deflected at right angles and passes through the valve seat i (Fig. 1) into the valve housing, from where it reaches the burners through the line o.
EMI1.1
Gas is fed to the burners and vice versa. This distance is caused by two moments:
1. The movement of the valve seat,
2. the movement of the valve itself.
The latter is brought about by the expansion body a and the leverage, the former, on the other hand, can be specially adjusted depending on the desired temperature.
To do this, pull the lever q up with the help of the screw t (Fig. 2), and the part x with valve seat i turns more towards the flap.
This reduces the distance between the valve and the valve seat and closes the valve at a low temperature.
Outside, a temperature scale is attached, as is common practice, on which the bent pointer M 'moves, so that one can determine exactly at how many degrees the gas flames are regulated.
With the aid of the apparatus described, the temperature during operation
EMI1.2
is regulated) to z. B. 5000 can be increased.
In this case the cord screw t (Fig. 2) is unscrewed, the spiral spring u expands further and pushes the lever q sideways. This takes the piece x with it, and there is a larger space between k and i (Fig. 1).
The valve h now has to cover a longer distance to the end of the valve seat i, and the gas flames are set accordingly later, so that the higher temperature of 5000 is constantly maintained in the body to be heated.
