Fig. 2 eine Ansicht im Aufriss,
Fig. 3 eine Ansicht im Grundriss,

Stretching device with turnbuckle for treating bone fractures.
The present invention relates to a distraction clamp with ball joints for treating bone fractures. The invention consists in that at each outer end of the nut sleeves of the turnbuckle that reach over the screw spindle with right and left threads, a ball bearing socket equipped with a locking screw and adjusting ring is provided, in each of which a ball head attached to the bandage rails can be clamped.
In the drawing, an example embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is illustrated, namely shows
1 shows a longitudinal section through the stretching device according to 1-B of FIG. 3 in elevation,
2 is a view in elevation,
3 is a plan view,
4 shows the threaded screw or pressure screw only with the ends of the associated nuts.
The apparatus consists mainly of two clamping nuts a connected to one another by a clamping screw; at each outer end of this clamping nut there is an enlarged bore for receiving a ball joint, consisting of the ball
EMI1.1
By turning the clamping screw, which extends in two directions and one side of which is provided with right-hand threads and the other with left-hand threads, the clamping nuts are driven apart.
Elongated metal plates e are riveted to the ball heads, which are plastered onto the plaster cast when the apparatus is used. The whole apparatus is made of rod! or gunmetal made and tinned.
The ball head of the ball joint is secured by a threaded metal ring c. which is screwed to the head of the nut a, held in the enlarged bore of the same. A screw 1) is used to determine the ball gap. which presses the pressure socket against the ball head.
If the clamps on both long sides of the fractured extremity are loosened on all four ball joints, the lower fragment can be moved inwards and outwards, upwards and downwards and furthermore rotated inwards and outwards, since the plaster cast is cut through in a circular manner , that is to say, its position can be changed in all directions; it is therefore possible to eliminate any deviation of the broken ends.
