It is proposed that the at least two sealing projections are designed and cooperate in such a way that when the pressure inside the container rises, the contact between the radially outer sealing projection (27a) and the container mouth (1) ends, and the contact between the radially outer sealing projection (27b) ends ) and the container mouth (1) and, after compensation of the excess pressure, both sealing projections (27a, 27b) rest sealingly in their respective area of the container mouth.

Description

   <Desc/Clms Page number 1>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 2>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 3>

Druckbeaufschlagung bedarf.

 <Desc/Clms Page number 4>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 5>

   An ihrer

Behältermündung 1 in Eingriff steht.

 <Desc/Clms Page number 6>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 7>

   The invention relates to a closure cap for a container, with a
Cap bottom and at least two radially spaced, circumferential sealing projections extending from the cap bottom, which are in contact with the container mouth when the cap is seated on the container mouth and thus seal the container interior against the container exterior.

   Sealing caps of the type mentioned here are known. They serve for
Closing containers in which a product is stored. The filling material can be a preferably granular solid, but also a liquid. When storing liquids, the problem often arises that they are exposed to heat, for example, or as a result of chemicals
Reactions, increasing their volume. This has several adverse effects. For example, the so-called "doming" effect can occur, as a result of which the bottom of the closure cap is released from the pressure
The inside of the container is domed outwards. This can damage the container or the closure cap and, in extreme cases, even cause the container to rupture or the closure cap to break off.

   Both endanger a user of the container.

  It is therefore an object of the invention to provide a closure cap of the type mentioned here, which enables the contents to be stored securely in the container, allows pressure to be released when the internal pressure is increased and is resealed when the pressure in the container is reduced again, so that safe handling by the user is ensured is.

 <Desc / Clms Page number 2>

   The object is achieved by a closure cap of the type mentioned here, in which sealing projections are provided, which are designed and cooperate in such a way that, when the internal pressure is increased, they act as a burst protection for the container
Termination of the contact between a radially inner sealing projection and the container mouth is a termination of the contact between a radially outer sealing projection and the container mouth and that after pressure equalization by blowing both sealing projections take their place of the previous contact again and thus in their respective again
Fit the area around the mouth of the container in a sealing manner.

   The curvature of the inside of the container when pressurized
The bottom of the cap pulls a spatial offset of the radially inner one
Sealing projection after itself. This offset terminates the contact between the radially inner sealing projection and the container mouth, so that this sealing projection no longer seals the inside of the container against the outside of the container. The radially offset arrangement of the two sealing projections on
In accordance with the lever law, the closure cap base also causes the contact between the radially outer sealing projection and the container mouth to be ended, and consequently this sealing projection no longer seals the inside of the container against the outside of the container. There is a direct path connection between the
Inside and outside of the container.

   The overpressure acting inside the container is reduced ("The container blows off", "blowing-up" effect). This effectively prevents the risk of damage to the container or the closure cap, and in particular the bursting of the container or the detachment of the closure cap and the associated danger to the container user.

  With regard to the termination of the contact between the radially inner sealing projection and the container mouth, it has proven to be particularly advantageous if the radially inner sealing projection and the container mouth are in contact along an area directly adjoining the end face of the container mouth, since in this case the Termination of the contact between the radially inner sealing projection and the container mouth of a particularly small spatial offset, and therefore a very small

 <Desc / Clms Page number 3>

Pressurization is required. The closure cap of this embodiment is therefore extremely sensitive to pressure fluctuations.

   The sealing projections can be designed differently in space. Radially inner sealing projections, which are designed as circumferential ring sealing lips that protrude into the interior of the container and have a bulge on the outside that points toward the inside of the container mouth, have proven successful in practice. In this embodiment of the closure cap, the contact occurs when the closure cap is seated on the container mouth between the bulge and the container mouth.

   Another embodiment of the closure cap sees a radially outer one
Sealing protrusion, which is designed as a W-shaped cross section having an annular rib, the tips of which point towards the end face of the container mouth. With this
Embodiment stand with - on the container mouth of the closure cap, the two tips of the radially outer sealing projection and the
Face of the container mouth in contact.

  Compared to the embodiment just mentioned, it is easier to manufacture a closure cap with a radially outer sealing projection, which is designed as a V-shaped cross-section with an annular rib, the tip of which points towards the end of the container mouth. In this embodiment, the tip of the radially outer sealing projection and the end face of the container mouth are in contact with the closure cap seated on the container mouth.

  In a further exemplary embodiment of the closure cap, it is provided that a further sealing projection designed as an annular rib extends from the edge of the closure cap base, which has a bulge on its inside facing the outside of the container mouth. In this embodiment there are therefore three sealing projections, each of which seals the inside of the container against the outside of the container.

  If the closure cap is to assume its original spatial shape again after the container has been blown off, an exemplary embodiment of FIG

   Further exemplary embodiments of the closure cap and their advantages result from the drawing, which is described below. Show it

Cap before blowing off and Figure 2 shows an axial section through the part of the container mouth and the
Cap during blowing off.

  FIG. 1 shows part of a container mouth 1 and a closure cap 3.

  The container mouth 1 is part of a container, not shown in the drawing, which is filled with a filling material, also not shown. The container mouth 1 is rotationally symmetrical with respect to an extension axis 5. The container mouth 1 has an inner side 7 facing the extension axis 5 and an outer side 9 pointing away therefrom. Between the inside 7 and the outside 9 of the container mouth 1 is located at the upper edge of the container mouth 1 in a parallel to the extension axis 5

 <Desc / Clms Page number 5>

Directional end face 11 of the container mouth 1. The end face 11 merges into the inside 7 via a first rounded section 13 and into the outside 9 of the container mouth 1 via a second rounded section 15.

   At hers
Outside 9, the container mouth 1 is provided with an external thread 17.

   The closure cap 3 is seated on the container mouth 1. The closure cap 3 has a closure cap base 19 and a closure cap wall 21. The
Cap bottom 19 extends substantially perpendicular to
Extension axis 5 of the container mouth 1, while the cap wall 21 extends parallel to this. The cap wall 21 is on its inside
23 provided with an internal thread 25, which with the external thread 17
Container mouth 1 is engaged.

   The closure cap 3 has three sealing projections 27a, 27b, 27c. The
Sealing projections 27a, 27b, 27c extend away from the cap bottom 19 of the cap 3 and are formed in one piece with it.

  The radially innermost sealing projection 27a is designed as a circumferential annular sealing lip 31 which projects into the container interior 29 and is provided on its outside 33 with a bulge 35 which faces the inside 7 of the container mouth 1 and bears against it.

  The radially outer sealing projection 27b is designed as an annular rib 37 having a W-shaped cross section, the two tips 39a, 39b of which rest on the end face 11 of the container mouth 1.

  Finally, the sealing projection 27c is designed as an annular rib 41 which is arranged on the edge of the cap bottom 19 and is provided on its inside 43 with a bulge 45 with which it bears against the rounded region 15 and the outside 9 of the container mouth 1.

  The embodiment of the closure cap 3 thus has four places where there is contact with the container mouth 1, namely with a view of the sealing projection 27a, the point at which the bulge 35 on the inside

 <Desc / Clms Page number 6>

7 of the container mouth 1 abuts, with a view of the sealing projection 27b
Places at which the tips 39a, 39b of the sealing projection 27b are seated on the end face 11 of the container mouth 1, and with a view of the sealing projection 27c
Point at which its bulge 45 bears against the second rounded section 15 and the outside 9 of the container mouth 1. It becomes clear that through the same
Touch contact points, the container interior 29 is sealed against the container exterior 47.

   Both the container mouth 1 and the closure cap 3 of the embodiment described in Figure 1 are made of elastic plastic. It is expressly noted that other materials can also be used for this. For example, the container mouth, like the entire container, can also consist of glass.

   If the filling material in the container expands, the user is informed
Cap bottom 19 in the direction of an arrow 49 a pressurization, as shown schematically in Figure 2. The cap bottom 19, which, when there is no pressurization from the interior of the container 29, as shown in FIG. 1, has an essentially flat extension, deforms in the shape of a dome or hood under the action of the excess pressure from the interior of the container, that is, it becomes in its central region 51 bulged in the direction of arrow 49.

   As a result of this deformation of the closure cap base 19, the sealing projections 27a, 27b, 27c change their spatial position, specifically all three sealing projections 27a, 27b, 27c are displaced in the direction of the arrow 49. As can be seen in FIG. 2, the contact between the sealing projections 27a, 27b, 27c and the container mouth is thereby ended, so that the container interior 29 is no longer sealed against the container exterior 47.

  The overpressure present in the interior of the container 29 can now escape from the interior of the container 29, as indicated by arrows 53, and the closure cap 3 therefore blows off. The sudden decrease in pressurization of the closure cap base 19 associated with the blowing off of the container causes

 <Desc / Clms Page number 7>

 Due to the elasticity of the closure cap 3, a deformation of the closure cap base 19 back into its original shape. As a result, the sealing projections 27a, 27b, 27c also return to their original spatial position, that is, they come into contact with the container mouth 1 again. The container interior 29 is now sealed again against the container exterior 47. If an excess pressure is again formed in the container interior 29, the closure cap 3 can blow off again.

  In practice, the overpressure in the interior of the container 29 has an order of magnitude of preferably 8 to 12 bar. After the cap has been blown off, the pressure inside the container 29 is reduced to approximately 5 bar.

  It is clear from all of this that the closure cap 3 according to the invention enables the safe storage of fillers in containers.
