voltage, due to the transformer connected to the brush branch and the resistance of this branch itself, this curve is given a completely different course, which can also be regulated in various ways, for example by switching a moderate resistor into the brush branch.
In the tour range that is considered for the regulation, the above relationship for the auxiliary field generated by the brush voltage is approximately the course of a straight line, as y in Fig. 2.If this auxiliary field is then stored in its effect here for sub-synchronism in the opposite sense RF fields generated by the stator voltage, which is given by the relation -x in FIG. 2, then both add to the

The consequence of this is that if the slip s is small, an inaccuracy in the setting is also reduced in this ratio and would no longer have any significance whatsoever if the slip is small.

In the case of continuous operation, a switchover must therefore be made when changing from under- to over-sync.
The same does not present any problems, especially since these circuits are de-energized and de-energized in the case of synchronism and could remain switched off in the vicinity of the synchronism.

Connection of the Hdiss coil to the stator voltage generated auxiliary field in relation to the density of the main field B leads to another interesting result.
This auxiliary field could initially, instead of being generated by the named auxiliary coils, also by a corresponding enlargement of the air space in the commutation zones. One also replaces

winding itself through fixed points of the same, slip rings, to a different frequency, two special positions, which z. B. in frequency converters for three-phase current, based on a two-pole arrangement, are 30 apart.
In one position, the power supply and discharge zones are exactly in the same position, and the current can flow over directly between the slip rings and the brushes or it flows in such a way that it cannot generate a field. In the other position, the current supply and discharge zones are 30 apart, and the current flowing through the armature winding generates a field in the commutation zones which, as a result of the rotation of the armature, induces a short-circuit current between the laminations connected by the brushes.
The voltage causing this short-circuit current can now evidently be reduced or canceled if one follows the above. In the commutation zone generated fields a more or more intimate phase-shifted field is superimposed in a correspondingly counteracting sense. This then happens here, since the damaging field is caused by the anchor connections, probably also most expediently by a corresponding arrangement from the anchor.
For example, a more than three-phase auxiliary winding could be attached to the armature.
