Die Wirkungsweise der Vorrichtung ist, folgende : Bei der Gegeneinanderbewegung der Zylinder wird Luft durch das Ventil 21 angesaugt und gelangt zu dem Ringraum zwischen den Zylindern 6 und 3. Bewegen sich die Zylinder dann auseinander, so wird die Luft durch die Kanäle 18 und 17 gegen den Umfang des Zylinders 3 gepresst und entweicht zwischen den aneinandergleitenden Flächen des Fortsatzes 16 der Führung 9 und dem unteren Ende des Zylinders 3. Verunreinigungen, die sich etwa an diesen Flächen angesammelt haben, werden hiedurch ausgetrieben und demnach wird der Eintritt von Staub in das Innere der Vorrichtung verhindert. Es ist ersichtlich, dass das Ventil 21 als Rückschlagventilwirksam ist und die eingesaugte Luft am Austritt verhindert.
In der Führung 16 ist ein Dichtungsring 30 vorgesehen, welcher einerseits das Eintreten von Verunreinigungen verhindert und andererseits das Austreten der durch das Ventil 21 eintretenden Luft nach aufwärts unmöglich macht.
Die Erfindung ist für Puffervorrichtungen aller Art anwendbar, bei welchen ein unter Druck befindliches Medium verwendet wird. Die Einrichtung zum Reinigen der Luft kann beliebiger Art sein.
