Abstract
The invention relates to a tuning peg for keyboard instruments, harp; Zither, dulcimer and raffle. The use of titanium or a titanium alloy does not dampen the existing vibrations, impulses and overtones and improve the playability and the sound of an instrument. The occasional coating with TiN or WC / C or CrN or CrC is used to differentiate and brighten the sound if necessary.

The invention relates to a tuning peg for keyboard instruments, harp, zither,
Chopping board and raffle.
A tuning peg consists of a metal rod that has a square 1 at one end and a six-start fine thread at the other end. In the area between
Thread and square is a hole 1, the so-called string hole.
The tuning peg is hammered into the wood on the instrument after a slightly smaller hole has been pre-drilled in the wood in order to subsequently continue the string on
Roll up and tension the tuning pegs, just tune.
The invention is based on the fact that titanium or a titanium alloy is used instead of damping materials such as relatively soft iron alloys, and as a result the impulses, vibrations and overtones of a string are transmitted much better to the keyboard instrument.
The density of the titanium alloy and the vibration behavior are responsible for the fact that impulses, vibrations and overtones are not damped but are transmitted directly and precisely.
Due to its density and tensile strength and the associated modulus of elasticity, this alloy is well suited for this purpose.
The diameter and length of the tuning peg are adapted to the corresponding instrument.
The success is clearly audible, since the response of the instrument and the brilliance as well as the carrying capacity of the sound are decisively improved, since there is practically no damping of the impulses, vibrations and overtones.
The possible coating with tungsten carbide - carbon or titanium nitride or chrome nitride or chrome carbide, in particular by means of a physical vapor deposition process (PVD), serves to differentiate and brighten the timbre.
In contrast to conventional tuning pegs, the fine thread 2 with this special thread profile is not cut or turned, but rolled or rolled. This has the decisive advantage that the surface is not rough, but smooth and free of burrs or edges, so that the wood is not machined when hammered in, but is only displaced, thereby avoiding frequent changing of the tuning pegs and guaranteeing a better hold.
