Das Gerbverfahren geht sehr schnell vor sich und die im Überschuss verwendete Flüssigkeit unterliegt keiner Veränderung, während die erschöpfte Flüssigkett sieh nur in ihrer Konzentration ändert, ohne dass fremde Substanzen hineineraten oder deren Zusammensetzung durch Oxydation, Gärung usw. verändert wird.
