Zündvorrichtung für Verbrennungskraftmaschinen.
Bei Zündvorrichtungen, bei denen ein ständig im Verbrennungsraum verbleibender und durch die Verbrennungswärme erhitzter Zündkörper die Zündung bewirkt, kommt es darauf an, die Temperatur des Zündkörpers trotz wechselnder Belastung auf der günstigen Höhe zu halten, weil zu hohe Temperaturen des Zündkörpers Frühzündungen und stark rauchende. kraftlose Explosionen ergeben, wogegen bei zu niedriger Temperatur des Zundkörpers die Explosionen ausbleiben.
Die zur Regelung der Erhitzung des Zündkörpers vorgeschlagene Wasser- einspritzung ist einerseits mit einem gewissen Kraftverlust verbunden und fordert andererseits bei Belastungsänderungen eine jedesmalige Neueinstellung, so dass die Wartung der Maschine umständlich wird.
Die Erfindung betrifft nun eine Glühzündvorrichtung. bei der diese Nachteile vollkommen beseitigt sind. Der Erfindungsgegenstand ist dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass der aus einem schlecht wärmeleitenden. feuerbeständigen, nichtmetallischen Stoff bestehende Zündkörper mit einem gekühlten Metallteil in Berührung steht. Durch geeignete Bemessung des als Wärmespeicher dienenden nichtmetallischen Zündkörpers und des zur Ableitung der überschüssigen Wärme dienenden metallischen Trägers kann erzielt werden, dass der Zündkörper ohne besondere Kühlung von den Belastungsänderungen unabhängig stets die günstige Temperatur beibehält.
In Fig. 1 und 2 der Zeichnung sind zwei Ausführungsbeispiele des Erfindungsgegenstandes im Längsschnitt dargestellt.
In Fig. 1 ist a der obere Teil des Verbrennungsraumes, b ist der Kolben, c der Verdichtungsraum und e dessen Deckel. h ist der aus schlecht wärmeleitendem. nicht metallischem, feuerbeständigem Stoffe. z. B. Schamotte, bestehende Zündstift. der in der ab-Träger dienenden, aus gutem Wärmeleiter, z. B. Kupfer, angefertigten Hülse g gefasst ist. Die Hülse 9 ist durch Deckel c geführt und steht ausserhalb des Zylinders mit der ihn umgebenden Aussenluft in Berührung.

In ignition devices, in which an ignition element that remains constantly in the combustion chamber and is heated by the heat of combustion causes the ignition, it is important to keep the temperature of the ignition element at a favorable level despite the changing load, because excessively high ignition element temperatures cause premature ignition and heavy smoking. Powerless explosions result, whereas if the igniter body temperature is too low, the explosions do not occur.
The water injection proposed to regulate the heating of the igniter is on the one hand associated with a certain loss of power and on the other hand requires readjustment every time the load changes, so that the maintenance of the machine becomes cumbersome.
The invention now relates to a glow ignition device. in which these disadvantages are completely eliminated. The subject matter of the invention is characterized in that it consists of a poorly thermally conductive. fire-resistant, non-metallic substance is in contact with a cooled metal part. By suitably dimensioning the non-metallic igniter serving as a heat storage device and the metallic carrier serving to dissipate the excess heat, it can be achieved that the igniter body always maintains the favorable temperature regardless of the load changes without special cooling.
In Fig. 1 and 2 of the drawing, two embodiments of the subject invention are shown in longitudinal section.
In Fig. 1, a is the upper part of the combustion chamber, b is the piston, c is the compression chamber and e is its cover. h is made of poor thermal conductivity. non-metallic, fire-resistant materials. z. B. chamotte, existing firing pin. serving in the ab-carrier, made of good heat conductors, e.g. B. copper, made sleeve g is taken. The sleeve 9 is passed through cover c and is outside the cylinder in contact with the outside air surrounding it.
