Fig. 1 zeigt die Verbindung in perspektiver Ansicht. Fig. 2 ist eine Vorderansicht des Verbindungsknebels.

Toggle for connecting looped ropes, especially wire ropes.
The most varied of means have already been proposed for connecting pieces of rope, in particular wire ropes, without it having been possible to find a connection that can be quickly released and that is resistant to pulling. This purpose, which is particularly important for heavily used rope strands (pulling, lifting and towing hangers), is achieved according to the invention by a peculiar toggle, which consists of a double hook that encompasses the loop parts of one piece of rope and a pin sitting on the hook body , which serves as a carrier for the second piece of rope.
In the drawing, a wire rope connection produced according to the invention is illustrated as an example embodiment. Fig. 1 shows the connection in perspective view. Figure 2 is a front view of the connecting toggle. Fig. 3 shows a section along line 111-111 in Fig. 2. Fig. 4 illustrates a plan view, Fig. 5 shows the application of the rope ends to the toggle mandrel.
The toggle forming the subject of the invention represents a multiply articulated body which, in the embodiment shown in the drawing, is made of tempered gas. The toggle consists of two main parts, namely a peculiarly shaped double hook 1 and a mandrel 2 seated on the hook body. The mandrel 2 can have a wide variety of shapes. In the embodiment shown in the drawing, it consists of a tapered edge body that is placed on the Surface is slightly grooved.
One of the ropes 8 to be connected is applied to the mandrel 2, namely, as can be seen from FIG. 3, in such a way that the end of the rope 3 wound over the mandrel and the hook center body is spliced by a wire wound over the rope . Through this association, the hook body 1 of the toggle is installed absolutely rigid and immovable in the rope body.
In order to connect a rope equipped with the toggle described above with another looped rope 4, it is only necessary to insert the toggle at an angle into the loop 5 of the rope 4 and then adjust it so that its double hook parts the loop 5 of the rope 4 encompasses. When tensile effects occur in the rope strands, the loop 5 lies tightly against the underside of the toggle pin ao, the inwardly bent tips of the toggle hook preventing the loop parts from jumping out of the toggle. The release of the rope connection in the relieved state of the rope strands is also extremely simple, since it can be removed from the loop immediately by twisting the toggle.
