  Holzkohle.

The present invention relates to a wooden sole made flexible by means of appropriate incisions and consists in that the wooden sole is provided on its side facing away from the barrel with a wood veneer panel, the fibers of which advantageously run in the longitudinal direction and cross the fibers of the wooden sole. to prevent the Ilolzole, which has been weakened by the incisions, from breaking.

In the drawing, the object of the invention is shown in FIG. 1 viewed from below, FIG. 2 is a longitudinal section of FIG. 1.

The wooden sole 1 is cut from one piece and a veneer 2 is glued to its inside in such a way that the wood fibers of the two 1, 2 come to lie crosswise against one another, namely advantageously the wood fibers of the sole in the transverse direction and those of the veneer in the longitudinal direction to run. That way becomes a

The liquid suitable for impregnation consists of a mixture of
500/0 vegetable oil, preferably olive oil,
30% milk of lime and 200% turpentine oil.

After these substances have been thoroughly mixed, they are boiled for about 1/2 hour and the prepared wooden sole is immersed in the mixture, which is heated to about 100 C, and left to stand for two hours. Afterwards the sole is removed, exposed to the pressure under a press and then dried. Finally, the sole is provided with incisions and holes 4, which can also be countersunk and are used to attach the wooden sole to the leather sole.

The wooden sole treated in this way achieves a hardness that is not inherent in the common types of wood, water-tightness, great durability and remains very elastic due to the arrangement of the deep incisions.
