Lubricating device for internal combustion engines with rotating cylinders.
In machines with rotating cylinders, the oil that collects on the inner circumference of the housing as the cylinder housing revolves has already been sucked off there by a pump, an axle bore and a suction pipe connected to it, and then returned to the lubrication points of the crankshaft through a second axle bore. In order for the Sangrohr öi to be able to grasp with certainty, a larger amount of oil always had to be present in the housing itself in an otherwise undesirable manner in order to avoid sucking in air. The oil return through the warm axis was also disadvantageous.
According to the invention, the oil that has accumulated in the cylinder housing is to flow to a pump as it circulates through the housing through a valve, which is opened under the influence of centrifugal force, to convey it back to the axle. The warm oil flowing out of the cylinder housing should flow through a cooler rotating with the housing and the pump before it is returned to the axis, in order to reach the lubrication points in a cooled state:
The drawing illustrates an embodiment of the Ernndungfigegenftandes.
Fig. 1 is a front view in partial section, Fig. 2 is a vertical cross section in the center of the cylinder through the housing and the cooler.
The cylinder housing a has at one point of its greatest circumferential width an opening c which is closed by a valve b when the machine is at a standstill. This opening leads to the suction chamber or suction pipe of a pump. The valve b opens when the housing rotates under the action of centrifugal force.
In the example chosen for illustration, a capsule pump d is located in a cooling space c with ribs f, which is connected to the cylinder housing a and rotates with the latter and the pump d.
The pump is driven by the axle through a worm gear h, i

pipe of the pump.
The suction chamber or, if available alone, the suction pipe of the pump d have a

can give off without damming effect.
In the example shown, the oil conveyed by the pressure pipe and cooled in the cooler reaches an annular space n connected to the housing a, from where it is fed back to the points to be lubricated by centrifugal force. A rotating catch ring q is connected to the crank o to return it to the bore of the crank pin p.
