Description

   <Desc/Clms Page number 1>

    Wasaerstrahlgeblee.

    Wasaerststrahlgeblee.

The subject of the invention is a water jet blower which, by avoiding the extremely unfavorable conversion of speed into pressure in a gradually expanding diffuser, inherent in the known water jet devices,
 EMI1.1
the Fangduso der'Vorrichtung instead of the gradually widening diffuser body a centrifugal wheel is placed. The blades of this wheel and the ratio of the diameters can be chosen in such a way that there is no decrease in speed in the working channels, i.e. there is also no lossy conversion of speed into pressure.

The pressure increase required to overcome the external pressure is only achieved by increasing the peripheral speed.

The water jet fan shown for example in the drawing consists of
 EMI1.2

In the nozzle a, the water flowing in through the nozzle e is given a speed corresponding to the pressure difference in front of and behind the nozzle. The exiting water jet entrains the surrounding air flowing in through the nozzle f and mixes with it. The air-water mixture is absorbed by the collecting nozzle b, compressed in the impeller c and flows through the nozzle.

Because the water jet emerging from the nozzle only has the task of mixing with the surrounding air and creating it into the collecting nozzle, the speed and thus also the pressure in front of the nozzle can be kept accordingly low. If the fan is used as a dilution pump, the pressure of the outside air is sufficient, so the fan sucks in the water automatically.

The low speed at which the air-water mixture enters the collecting nozzle has the further advantage that the nozzle entry point, which is subject to heavy wear in the known devices operating at very high speeds, is spared in the jet fan according to the invention.

To give the jet of water emerging from the nozzle a larger surface,
 EMI1.3
wheel c can be assembled or arranged separately and stationary, whereby it can be divided if necessary.
