  Lining for bearings like

For heavily used bearings for shafts, journals, idler pulleys, etc. Like. The disadvantage asserts itself that the bearing linings as well as the shafts and journals are severely worn and that a bushing causes difficulties, but is also not sufficiently resistant because hard material cannot be used because of its brittleness.

The subject matter of the invention is a bearing lining or a shaft or journal casing which is almost indestructible, hugs well, is easy to attach and

hardened steel or the like. As a rule, threads f made of textile or other absorbent material are inserted between the windings of the wire, which take up the lubricating material and pass it on like a helix as it rotates. The helical hollow wire body can be used in such a way that the lubricating material is moved through the windings to the point where it is particularly necessary. The wire, which. As the drawing shows, can have different cross-sections, can be fluted laterally, as Fig. 1 shows, so that, for.

   U. a round wick f or the like. Is held well between the turns. Very thin wire is usually sufficient. It is expedient that two or more oppositely wound hollow wire bodies are attached one above the other, of which one part of the bearing may stand still while the other rotates with the shaft, or both of which rotate in opposite directions.

If several of the hollow wire bodies are attached one above the other, FIGS. 3 and 4, a back and forth movement of the lubricating material takes place due to the oppositely wound hollow wire bodies. If necessary, the diameter of this outer twisted wire body can be expanded in that it is pressed together from the side by stud nuts or the like. The wire then appropriately has a round cross-section, as shown in FIG. 3.

The wires of these food boxes can also be wound helically to form flanges at one end. These are supported on the approaches, bundons, adjusting rings or washers, which can also be formed from wire that is helical but conveniently oppositely wound. FIG. 4 shows such an embodiment in which two nested bushings a and b have flanges f 'which are wound from wire and which are also made of helically wound wires
Place washers.

There is no difficulty in bringing the twisted hollow wire bodies onto worn, thinned parts of shafts, to which they cling tightly. The sleeves made of coiled hard steel wire are hardly subject to wear.
