    Winddruckme88er.

    Wind pressure meter.

The invention relates to those known wind pressure measures in which a ball suspended from a pendulum is deflected by the air flow.

In Fig. 1, the known device is shown schematically. The ball 1 is attached to the rod 2 and mounted in such a way that both can be moved in the directions of the arrows. During the measurement it is necessary that the plane of oscillation of the pendulum is set parallel to the air flow in order to obtain a corresponding deflection. This setting can be brought about in the simplest way by attaching a wind vane 3, but this results in significant shortcomings. In the case of weak gusts of wind, an exact determination of the initial value is impossible in many cases because the measurement cannot start at the same time as the air flow occurs. In the case of strong, sudden winds, the setting, which takes place quickly and with great force, is very harmful for the storage.

Here, too, there is a delay in the measurement.

According to the invention, the ball is suspended from a thread or a chain, so it can swing in any plane laid by the thread; It is no longer necessary to adjust to a specific vibration level.

This arrangement is shown in FIG. The ball 1 hangs on a thin chain 2: this begins on the carrier 3 and is guided over the roller 4 to which its end is attached. The tension is brought about by the spring 5. If the ball 1 is exposed to a stream of air in a horizontal direction, it swings out. The chain 2 causes the roller 4 to rotate counter to the swirl of the spring 5. The movement can be read on a scale 6. To prevent the chain from jumping out of the groove, a guide sleeve 7 is attached. This is rounded and polished on all sides so that the resulting frictional resistance is even on all sides.

In known apparatuses, the angle of deflection serves directly as a measure for the wind pressure, while in the case of the arrangement in question, a certain angle of deflection first causes a roller movement and this is only read. This results in the advantage of being able to choose the deflection angle of the ball as large as desired for a specific pointer deflection.

So that the ball remains in a horizontal plane during its movement, according to the embodiment of FIG. 3, the chain is guided over the rollers 8 and 9 and loaded at its end by a weight. Either the resulting spring tension by means of a pointer and a scale or the movement of the weight can be used to read the movement of the ball.

   PATENT. EXPECTATIONS :
1. Anemometer, in which a pendulum suspended ball is deflected by the air flow, characterized in that the ball on a chain or on a
Thread is arranged between a fixed and movable point in the middle, so that for a given wind pressure from any horizontal direction the same
Unwinding of the chain results.
